We are going to lose 4 of our last 5 games, so the nice start - while fun - will likely come to a halt in Houston and then end with consecutive losses at Cincinnati, at Temple and at home against UCF.

This is exactly how I see the season ending this year.

You constantly criticized Flowers for not being perfect. Guess what? Nobody is perfect. He was the last one to be blamed for that loss or for not winning a conference championship.

Some one must be blamed.

Flowers missed pass didn't cost us a championship

Not directly but it did not help us.  Again played the greatest game ever for USF...even he would say he would want that one back

Any player is fair game for criticism, including QF. But that UCF game (of all games) is not one to hang on him IMO. Without him running wild and nearly lights-out passing, we lose by multiple TDs. Look to the D for answers on that one, the offense delivered.

We lost the UCF game in the third quarter.  When we went up and had 2 straight 3 and outs and the defense got put on it's heels.  It wasn't one player, it was poor execution at a key moment in the game.

Just being realistic. Assuming we win at Tulsa and at home against UConn and get to 7-0, this is how I see it playing out:

  • I don’t think our defense (#98 nationally) will be able to slow down Houston’s offense (#2 nationally)
  • I think we get by Tulane but will be interested to see what the line is as I don’t think we cover against a team that’s tougher than their record - either it’s close through out or Charlie pulls players out early with Cincinnati looming
  • I think our offense will struggle on the road against Cincinnati’s defense (#5 nationally)
  • With two conference losses already an no chance at the AAC East title, this is a classic laying-of-the-egg game as we go up to Philadelphia in November to play an improving Temple team
  • I think the team plays well against a UCF team that is firing on all cyclders, but the Knights are playing for something much bigger than a rivalry

This is no magical season. There is no defensive scheme that will keep this team from leaking like the Titanic. There is Quintin Flowers to save this coaching staff.

USF issues has been shooting ourselves in the foot. We basically, played these teams with 1 arm tied behind our back and still went 5-0. God forbid, we play 2 our potential. No way in hell we lose the last 4 out of 5. I see 2 losses the most! Personally I feel we are going 2 be undefeated. This team has way too much talent and athleticism to go out like that. I get it. Keep ur expectations low so that u arent let down, but my green and gold goggle arent coming off this year.....win or lose!

I hope you are right. I agree that the team can play better, but will they or is this is as good as it gets for this group? What if we have already seen the best of this group and they have plateaued?

Then Houston we have a problem...pun intended.
