His familiarity with our program, and fan base, is a double edged sword.

Idk I remember Denny Crum from Louisville basketball fame once saying something along the lines of us having the worst fans in college basketball, at the time I thought it was the nicest thing anyone ever said about us.

Fair point. I'd argue that he saw the potential first hand during the 2007-2010.  It's just a matter of if he's confident he manage the department back to that level interest/success and keep it there.

And since he has done it once before he has to think there is at least a chance that he can do it again.

At this point, he probably only needs to be confident our checks will cash.  He probably doesn't have a whole lot of options at high profile institutions.

Yeah, he could either use USF an image rehab/car wash or he could elevate the program and stay.    Somebody is going to hire him at some point and I would prefer it to be USF.   Then again our luck will be we hire some slub, Danny White leaves UCF for a better job after next season, and they hire Jurich.

My only concern with Jurich is his name and current reputation with college football's big wheels. Where does he stand now? Do most coaches, ADs and presidents believe he ran a shady operation at Louisville?

It's all about who you know (that has money and power) in NCAA football.

If there's a dark cloud over him, we don't need that.

I have no idea; I didn't follow things that closely with how it all played out at Louisville.

Let's say a P5 slot opens up in the future and Jurich is the AD. And one of the presidents says, "I'm not voting for South Florida because of you know who."

Again, I'm speculating! I have no idea.

I'm sure that USF will do their due diligence before hiring him, if they do go that route.   I also don't think he is hurting for dough right now:

My guess is if we do hire Jurich, we'll be in the SEC within his tenure.

If it’s not Jurich and Brooks is out, who do we go after...please no more assistant ADs from the west or Midwest...

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
