Growing up my mother was a Schafer beer drinker (I can still sing the most of the jingle). She'd let me take a sip on occasion and it was just the nastiest stuff ever. I just figured that is what all beer tasted like and drank liquors as I got to drinking age (18 at the time in NJ).
