2007 vs 2017

Some people forget 2007 got BLOWN OUT by a 4th string QB of an unranked team to end the season.

Don't see this team doing that.

For the same reason the stadium is empty.  The competition is seriously bad and it has been since the conference implosion.  While it is fun entertaining the idea as there are similar stakes, there is no evidence that this years team, or last years team can hang with truly competitive teams.   I think CCS is the best shot we have at getting back to old form though.  So in my opinion the 07 "sand lot" offense would be just as effective against the 17 level of competition, the 07 defense would be even more punishing against the 17 level of competition.  The inverse is similar in that 17 offense would struggle against the competition.  Most important is that from our time in the Big East until skippy, we never lost to a non BCS team.  So the 07 team has that...

As great as Q has been what are his signature wins? #22 Navy and #21 Temple both at home and a .500 SEC team?

Excellent point. That 07 team has to answer to that bowl loss. If they were so good that should have never happend.

That Oregon team would've been playing for a national title if not for Dixon tearing his ACL. They were the better team for sure.

If USF can beat UCF this year 48-12 or something like that,

I would say 2017 could beat 2007.

You guys act like there isn't NFL talent on this year's bulls team.. Nichols, flowers, senat, and possibly more from our extremely deep secondary. Keep sleeping on these new guys!

If it's just one game w/ everybody healthy.. 1v1s I would still have to go with 2017. 17' is scoring 30 somehow and I can't see 2007's offense keeping up without a huge mistake in the process. 2017: better offense, better special teams, 2007: better defense but still small and susceptible to the running game. 2017 wins 30-27.. Nadelman with the winning FG as time expires.
