Regardless of who we pick, I get the feeling we will be doing this same song and dance in 2-4 years

Yes, unless we can get out of AAC and into a real conference.

Plus, campus Stadium and covered practice field.

If Zook, Weis and Tuberville got 2nd and 3rd chances, than why can't strong get a 2nd chance?

Because those 3 have brutally tainted 2nd and 3rd chances ...

weiss only had 2 HC chances.

between his first failed attempt at ND he had OC gig at KC where he led them to #9 total offense and OC at UF and then flamed out at Kansas as HC.

I'd make the hire that gets us 2-3 great seasons.

1. Keeps recruiting up

2. Still winning

3. At that point, you're looked at as a great expansion candidate as a school

^ This.

I also fee that after one failed attempt at Texas, why would he want to keep changing jobs. Charlie strong is 56 years old.He will **** near be 60 3-4 years from now. Who wants to keep changing jobs and rebuilding programs that late in life? He will have money from the buyout and from his current coaching job so it's no longer money issue. Unless he just wants that coveted national title, there is no reason to force the issue. Even Skip Holtz admitted that he plans on retired as a coach for LA Tech.

As much as anyone, Strong might stick around due to age and Texas money. Maybe not, but if he goes nothing lost since anyone else is looking for a better job the day the arrive here.

Can Strong's career afford a year away from the locker room? I know his bank account can, just curious what the risks are if he took a year off. Would you bring him back at market value after his stint at UT plus a year?
