This was going to happen sooner or later.  Next year he could be 12-0.  Either he wants to stay for the compensation we can afford to pay him or doesn't.  I think most people understand he will do what is best for his family and not get their feelings hurt.

Can we move on from the support group for people who don't understand how the world works to news about the situation?

Any word?

Best case scenario is they offer,  he turns them down because Harlan and Judy step up.  This would make the fans love him more and it would be a powerful tool on the recruiting trail.

Consider this.   SC will low ball him because they would be taking a chance on him and they know they can.

Doesn't the HC of USCar get a membership at Augusta as a perk?  I had heard that somewhere.

Only thing I've heard is CWT's tweet from earlier where he references getting to 9 wins. The concensus on the Internet points to Muschamp getting the job. But no official word that I'm aware of.

Not dissing Jose Fernandez, but when he has ever been offered a big time job? If you want to talk loyal coaches, look no further than Coach Ken Eriksen. University of Arizona has gone after him. University of Florida has gone after him. Even Arizona State has wanted his services. He's still a Bull though. Played baseball and then coached softball at USF. By far the most loyal coach to USF hands down. They should name the field after him when he retires (he's also taken us further than any coach in any sport when he got our ladies to the College Softball World Series). Jose Fernandez is special - Ken Eriksen is a legend.

Finding Jose Fernandez was a coaching gold mine.  An assistant interim coach who took over the ladies program when it was rocked by a coaching scandal.  He turned that program into a perennial winner.  It is not the NCAA championship, but the WNIT championship is nothing to look down on.  He recruits internationally and brings in great players.  He may not be a legend now, but he will be one by the time he is done at USF.

He's been great for USF no doubt. I just don't see him as a first choice for schools like UT, Stanford, UConn, Maryland or Baylor if they had a coaching defection/retirement/change. Coach Eriksen has gotten that type of interest when the powerhouses have needed a head coach. Hopefully we keep winning in women's hoops and he flies under the radar of bigger programs.

But a part of that is due to the fact that about 10 people plus parents follow women's softball. Compared to women's basketball it is a small time sport. if it was bigger Erickson would have been gone long ago.

I don't think so... maybe they get some kind of "playing" privileges. Augusta only has like 300 members right? I can't imagine they'd just give it to every head football coach. Besides, something tells me Taggart may not feel "comfortable" over there...

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
