99% sure he has no other offers.  90% sure he wants to stay at USF and get paid what he's worth as an AAC top coach

what about the assistants?? I think they are more likely to get picked away this offseason

It's picking season NOW.  With each job filled by an non-HC, I feel better.

Reading what some folks post on here is entertaining, to say the least.

If I were Harlan, and I'm glad I'm not since I have no experience as an AD, I think I would propose a contract revision (not extension) which would give CWT a modest bump in salary to between 1.7 - 2 mil and massively raise the buyout. Increase the assistant salary pool, since they are key to success. Then I would tell CWT that if he shows next year he's worth it (beat FSU, win conference, recruiting continuing upwards) then we will give an extension and another significant raise to keep him here. Meanwhile, let Allen know privately that we would want to consider staying as HC if CWT leaves at some point. Incentivizes the right things, hopefully, while protecting us as much as possible from getting screwed.

Should Taggart stay, how much so you all think he's worth? I think 2.25-2.5 mil/yr is fair market value.

Herman at Houston just agreed to his $3MM contract, so that is the range of a "top" conference coach that keeps them in fold (for time being).

I'm confident Harlan will make the right move and knows exactly who deserves to get paid for the recent success we've attained.

two things I wish would have happened.

1. USF playing in today's AAC title game and smashing Houston

2. 2016 season is complete with USF going 12-0

either one of those would warrant CWT being highest paid AAC coach

I'd say 2mil. He hasn't earned what the top coaches have been offered this year yet (3mil). I don't think he's really earned the 2mil that I think Harlan will be forced to give him. Dude has gone on a half-season win streak. OC/DC need to be paid too, spread the wealth.

While I agree that he probably doesn't deserve that either, whats the point of giving him more money if the amount of money we're giving him won't keep him here?

Hope he didn't shake his recruits after he had an interview.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
