Taggart is a good head coach, but he isn't letting his offensive coordinators do their jobs and call the plays. If we had some decent play calling with more passing mixed in we could be a very good team.

Really not trying to be a jerk, in all seriousness can you point to one thing that proves or shows that Taggart is a good head coach. Recruiting doesn't qualify...

This offense is the most boring I've ever seen.

Punting is the highlight of the drive.

We only start to open it up late during garbage time.

And played soft D which allowed our drive to get to 17. I'll believe QF can throw consistently when he does so before the game is over and the other team is playing prevent.

You are right, Memphis went completely conservative on O because they knew we couldn't put the points up.

You are right, Memphis went completely conservative on O because they knew we couldn't put the points up.

Actually give props to Fuente...he knew what he had to get done for this game and how to get it done. He knew that they could score more than we could and that turnovers would be the only thing that could hurt them.

We had an extra week to prepare and rest for this game. 

Can anyone point to one decision or call that Taggart has made that leads you to believe that he is a good coach? The offense looks worse than last year. Taggart insists on calling plays and thinks Flowers is a good QB. He looks lost on the sideline. He has failed to develop or recruit a QB. Hopefully Woulard turns out to be the real deal, but Taggart lucked into getting him because of the depth at UCLA. 

Memphis and Temple are the the teams to beat in the AAC? Seriously? No offense to those programs but the fact that we have to aspire to what Memphis and Temple are doing says a lot about how far we have fallen. 

 

The interest in this program seems to be at an all time low. I don't know if they should fire Taggart - if we still have a lot to pay him it doesn't seem worth it at this point. USF is going to have to knock it out of the park with the next hire or we will be stuck in this rebuilding phase firing/hiring a coach every few years.

I honestly do feel like we are improving....slowly.  And Taggart seems to be getting some better players each year.  The problem is Taggart's offense.  You can't be successful with one of the worst offenses in college football year after year after year.   

This.  We have the most boring and predictable offense ever seen.

how can you make an arument that cwt should stay beyond this year?

cwt brings no life to the program

come to think of it he brings nothing to the program

I agree with smazza that cwt brings nothing to the program as a head coach. He's been out coached in pretty much every game we've played the past 2 plus years.

He'd make a hell of a Recruiting Coordinator, other than that skill (and is it really his skill or that of assistants?) he brings less than zero to the table.  He's as horrible as Doug Woolard was at being an AD.  Time for him to get his walking papers.

I don't think anyone is making the argument that he should stay after this year.  The assumption is that he is gone at the end of the year (which is sad), but the question is more could the season be saved with someone else calling an offense?

Ole Miss will beat Memphis easily and it won't be close. Ole miss has a legit offense.
