  1. At this point, I don't care if our coach kills every ant he sees when he's walking down a sidwalk or urinates on trees instead of using a restroom or doesn't wave hello to the elderly when they say hi to him. I want someone who will come in and WIN. And with the talent that follows him that's exactly what he will do. If our administration took this approach instead of so much focus on "winning the right way" results would be different. You think UCF took the approach of "let's not hire guys that will rock the boat or don't fit a certain mold"? Nah, they said we're all in on the program and winning and will do whatever it takes. That's why they're headed to the Big12 and we're still throwing bologna at a wall for head coaching options hoping it sticks at some point while rowing down the river in a canoe from good will that has holes in it taking on water toward the new dumpster fire AAC.
  2. No. They've beaten a few very bad low level basketball teams.
  3. Dodged a bullet? Yeah man, the 4 and 5 star recruits that will be flooding that school will be a death sentence for Colorado Football.
  4. Any chance you play in Brandon or Wesley Chapel?
  5. I would hope so. I would consider it to be like returning an item at a store. It's been unused. If they don't refund me I'll throw an absolute fit to them every day for the next 9 months.
  6. Are we really going to pretend that this guy "turned around" the Tennessee offense and it's not due to Heupel? Recruited Florida for Iowa State? I can only imagine the wonderful relationships he has from that time. NIL at USF gotta be super similar to Tennessee's. Great point! He has Florida experience as what? a Tight Ends coach for UCF? Anyone fine with this hire probably wants to see Michael Kelly get an extension after this disaster too.
  7. I already did the renewal plan. I will be calling Monday to cancel it. Jeff Scott 2.0 with Michael Kelly proving to be an absolute buffoon. Can't wait to watch us go through this same mess with Brian Gregory at the end of this basketball season. We can only hope he's not given the opportunity to hire the new basketball coach.
  8. Judy certainly shoulders some blame, but you cannot swing and miss as badly as USF did on 3 out of the last 4 football coaches. That takes the majority of the blame. That is on the AD/Search firm/whoever else decided to hire Holtz, Strong, and Scott. I don't care if "experts" will scream that "they were the right hire at the time". This program would be in a lot different shape if even one of those 3 could figure out a way to win 7 games a year. When we swing and miss, we don't swing and miss with mediocre guys. We swing and miss with absolutely pathetic / bottom of the barrell type of stuff. Truly amazing.
  9. The new conference is awful, but so are we so its exactly what we get for the incompetence and failure that has taken place over the last long while.
  10. Gregory is toast. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make it through the season either.
  11. I am at the point where there will be no excitement until there are results on the field. Too much wasted energy on non results to be let down over and over.
  12. That coaching staff was also on the recruiting trail. They were also in charge of developing players. They were also game planning. They were also coaching. They all played a part in the disaster that was Jeff Scott at USF. They all need to go.
  13. Had to be done. Wish I could say I had hope, but I still feel defeated about the program. I don't trust usf to make the right hire at this point.
  14. Think it's completely fair to say he is an upgrade at this point. I do think McClain had a ton of potential with help/development/maturing too. Really enjoy watching our offense when Trickett has Bohanon running the ball as much as he has been, but then we run the risk of what we saw tonight. I think we win that game tonight if Bohanon doesn't get hurt. USF fans, and Jeff Scott can't catch a single break.
  15. 100% it's speculation. It's an educated guess. Are those allowed? Those seem to be pretty frowned upon around here. Not sure how many lawyers we have on this board but sure seems like a lot.
  16. I don't think anyone has said he's not an upgrade especially after the last 2 games. What I said was I believe the coaching staff thought he was a better passer than what he really is when they brought him here many months ago.
  17. As in game 1 he was 17 for 30 for 172 yards 0 TD and 1 INT against BYU and as in Game 2 against FCS Howard he was 17 for 28 for 219 yards 0 TD and 1 INT? That's the two games we're pointing to say he's a good pocket passer?
  18. 100%. It seems like they thought he was a better pocket passer than he really is. Thankfully they've seemed to adjust and have run him a ton which is what they'll have to do to give us a chance. Let's hope he can stay healthy.
  19. I am not laying blame on anyone. I said he's not the passer fans or the coaches thought they were getting and that is my assumption/opinion. Is that really a wild take? lol. Scott was the one talking about his completion % and everything else in camp. If you disagree and think he's a good passer or that the hamstring is to blame for any poor performances, that's fine. For as many flashes he's shown he has just as many signs of being abysmal. I said he's been much better of late, but still plenty of passing plays and games that you watch where you just shake your head. Pointless to go back and forth on this stuff. In my opinion, I believe the coaches thought he was a better passer than he truly is. Period. The second part, and main point of my initial response is that the QB for Baylor, Blake Shapen is a much better QB than Bohanon and it's not even close.
  20. I will better preface my comments. I am assuming that Jeff Scott and his staff thought that he was a better passer than he has shown so far. If they knew he was the (poor) passer he's shown up to this point, mark that down as red flag #400 for Jeff Scott as our answer at head coach. Our current OC was on WV's staff when Bohanon torched them last year with Baylor through the air (one of his few very good passing games). I would imagine that Trickett would agree that he would have thought Bohanon would have done much better passing the ball up to this point. Yes, I know, he's dealt with drops and poor WR play but he's had some really awful showings as a passer without that as well. He has recently done much, much better for us in this area. However, some of the lolipops and 4 yard passes into WR's feet, in my opinion, tell me that he's really not a very good passer. Pretty sure anyone expecting him to be able to make short yardge throws weren't off base. I believe Jeff Scott was the man touting his completion %s in camp. Bohanon is a fine college QB if the offense uses him properly which is running him ragged. Either way, it's honestly not even close. Baylor's current QB is by far the superior player at the position which was my ultimate point.
  21. They lost last night becasue Shapen got hurt. Shapen is the better QB and it's not even close lol. Bohanon is not the team's "problem", but he's not nearly as good as what this coaching staff and fan base thought they were getting from a passing perspective.
  22. Unfortunately, IMO I think we have too many that don't react in a strong way about this type of product which I think plays a role in where the program is today. Too many are okay with seeing "progress" and "trying hard". I believe one of the members of the site said there's more to football at his alma mater than wins and losses which is the exact opposite of what winning programs are about. Really hope Scott can find a way to get to 4 wins and be a decent head coach because I have 0 faith in the USF admin to hit on a football coach at this point.
  23. I get it. I don't feel "bad" for him. He's had plent of opportunity to put a better product on the field than he has to this point and he has no one to blame but himself. Whether it's in game decisions he's made, coordinator hires he's made, inability to develop players, etc. I do however, have empathy for him just like most would where if you put what you thought was your best effort into something for years and you failed over and over that'd weigh on almost any human. So from that aspect I feel for him. I do not feel bad for him though, he's paid well enough to get over what he's going through pretty quickly. Let's hope the players see his vulnerability as good leadership and a guy they want to fight for and not weakness.
  24. lol I am 100% on board with the guy is in over his head and has been a total failure to this point, but a lot of what I read in that is silliness. The getting emotional in the moment talking about players being willing to play different positions was odd. The guy does care, but I would imagine it's the entire situation that's causing the emotion and not the story he gave while tearing up. He understands he's failed to this point and I think he's lost. He thought he had done enough to win some games from a roster perspective and they either haven't done enough in that regard or him and his coaching staff are preventing it. Either way brutal look for him. As far as the extension, if your company came to you and offered you a raise/extension you would take it too so throw that out the window that has no bearing on whether he cares or not. The extension is on Michael Kelly. Kelly has done a fine job with certain things, but extending Scott and Gregory is beyond me given their performances. I do agree that the emotion can easily come off as the guy is at the end of his rope with no answers which I would say is concerning at this point, but I'm well past concerned with the program and Jeff Scott. I don't think he has any answers at this point either. He is going to keep saying the same things and praise effort and players showing up for practice. Bottom line is, you have to win or you gotta go. You can love USF football more than anyone on this planet as the head coach and if you're not winning football games, you can't stay.
