  1. I wish there was an easy answer to whether we just don't have the talent on the defensive side of the ball to compete with the "big boys" vs. how badly did Woodie get out coached today vs. how much of it was our D having a bad game? It seemed like their RBs were not even close to being touched until 8 yards down the field every play. It was just way too **** easy.
  2. For me it's just a little disheartening and humbling. I really thought we were back as a program and not just back as a program that will end seasons with winning records, but back as a program that could compete with almost any team in the country. Obviously not there yet. Just a bump in the road.
  3. We should win. Our defense worries me a little. I think we'll need to put up 40+ to come away with a W.
  4. Top 35 team this season. 10-2 or 9-3. No idea what to expect out of the defense being run by Woodie this year, but we will be able to outscore just about everyone so it shouldn't be an issue either way.
  5. He also says Willie Taggart has the 2nd hottest seat in the conference. Nonsense.
  6. And still went on to say that the Bulls will disappoint. Goes to show he doesn't know how good they are, because those two are another year older, another year stronger, another year smarter and will outscore just about everyone on our schedule. Are there question marks about the Oline? Sure. Do we play in the SEC? Nope. Those guys don't have to be out of this world for us to score against the weak schedule. Nothing is guaranteed, but Taggart has recruited well enough that they shouldn't be awful.
  7. This guy has no clue how good QF and Mack are. Even if our D disappoints we're likely to outscore most of our opponents. I would say worst case scenario we go 8-4 again. If our D can play well again, 10 wins isn't out of the question. In my opinion the schedule is very weak.
  8. One of my favorite professors while I was there. He made class entertaining with stories and also taught about life on top of business.
  9. He will always have a motor and give it everything he's got, but his true effectiveness is gone. Can't pay that guy to be a "QB hurrier". Apparently he's having surgery to help with his grip so maybe that'll help, but I'd be shocked if he's 3/4 the player he once was ever again.
  10. 1 sack in 8 games = highly effective? I'm a die hard Giants fan and love that guy, but he's nowhere near the same which is why there is a great chance the Giants let him walk if he's asking for a good chunk of change still. A rough way for a guy to put his career in a downward spiral.
  11. Thanks Reaves for everything you did last year getting Flowers to put up monster numbers. To reward you, we'd like you to coach TE's!
  12. ...Garbage? That's the adjective you choose to describe him? In 10 games he averaged 10, 3, and 3 as a RS sophomore. I wasn't trying to say he's some all american, but let's not act like our team is better without him...
  13. Give this topic a rest. You'd think we would learn from what Taggart just did. Give him the time he needs to turn it around. In basketball all it takes is one player to go down and your team is drastically different. In our case we had 2 of our best players go down in Holston and Peters. Is that Antigua's fault too? SMU is also 20-2. We are going to get smashed by them.... If we just lost to a team like Eckerd or a D2 team like that then whine and moan all day about it, but SMU? Get outta here...
  14. My mind is made up and the only thing I know is it's not Antigua's fault that half the team transferred. Could some of the players have met with Antigua when he was hired and absolutely hated him and wanted out from that point forward which seems to be what you're saying was the case for every single player that left? Sure. I think it's much more likely they wanted to control who they played for and once the coach they signed to play for over the course of their collegiate career got fired, they likely wanted to explore their other options. So they did and left. It's also very possible some wanted out after the season no matter who was the coach that next season. No one really knows other than the players who made the decision to leave, but to blame Antigua for the transfers is just wildly unreasonable. We're not going to agree on this so let's just leave it.
  15. Encouraged them to leave? You're absolutely outside of your mind. You know what I give in. You've helped me see the light on Orlando. If Antigua doesn't have the ability to control all the players minds and their decisions maybe this isn't the place for him....
  16. Maybe because they committed to play for Stan Heath and if the circumstances changed they wanted out unless they were bringing in John Calipari?? Why are we even going back and forth on this. It's not Antigua's fault that these guys transferred out and that's the bottom line. If you want to take the stance that these adults can't/wouldn't make a decision to transfer on their own then go for it. I think it was in Collins' best interest to transfer out more so than the others, but that is just my opinion. Doesn't make it right or wrong.
  17. I do not think some of the reason that everyone transferred was Antigua. Collins probably the one being the exception and not due to what he thought of Antigua as a coach, but because of the system Antigua runs due to Collins' limitations on the court. He will only thrive and play well in a specific system.
  18. It's not too much to ask because he did recruit the players that were already on scholarship. They decided to leave anyways. It's obvious the only reason they were here was Heath or were not willing to stick around to see what Antigua could do. And if you take over at a new company in management and you lose half your team because they would rather take their chances at another company how could that be your fault? Be realistic in your assessment without placing blame on someone for something totally out of their control. Basketball is not like football. If you lose a few football players you don't notice because it's the ultimate team sport with 11 on the field. In basketball 1 player can make the ultimate difference good or bad.
  19. Egbunu was gone the second Heath was fired. The ONLY reason he was here was because he grew up playing basketball with Heath's son who was also on the team. You think he helped them pack their stuff and then drove them to wherever they wanted to transfer? You don't think he did everything in his power to keep every single player that was already associated with the program in the program? Or do you think he was really looking forward to the challenge of coaching competitive D1 basketball with an inexperienced roster and with a small amount of scholarship players? C'mon dude. It's okay for us to be mad about how bad we are, but look at things pragmatically. Once those players made their minds up that they were transferring he started with absolutely nothing. He was hired March 31. Initial Signing day was April 16. Final signing day was May 21. So if anyone expected even a decent recruiting class year 1 they're unrealistic. Peters was a fantastic transfer he landed, got hurt. Holston was a really good recruit he signed, got hurt. He signed Troy Baxter for next year who looks like a hell of a recruit for our program. Not a clue if he retained any coaches from the previous regime and if I were him I certainly would not have.
  20. Good grief.. He walked into a worse situation than Taggart. Everyone transferred out. Our top transfer Peters has been hurt. Our other top player Holston has been out hurt. Give the guy a break. He started with absolutely nothing. He had to take transfers of almost any talent to just simply fill the roster. All it takes in basketball is a few guys to get hurt and your team is done for. Not saying he doesn't take some responsibility for what's going on, but he should not be fired.
  21. http://www.cougcenter.com/2016/1/18/10787748/wsu-football-recruiting-four-star-florida-receiver-locks-in-official-darnell-salomon Taking his official Jan 29. Last weekend before signing day. Yikes.
  22. Right. After the Smith, Watts, and Nabers additions. I would imagine we were at best in the low 60s prior to those commitments on their site.
  23. To be totally fair our class was ranked in the 70s prior to this past weekend. Reasonable for some to wonder this late in the game or be skeptical that things weren't going to turn out like we have gotten used to the last few years. Looks like the majority of those worries should be squashed now.
  24. Good luck getting the athletes and players to Indiana to play with Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, etc. I get he's going home, but I think it probably hurts his career trajectory vs. staying here a little longer.
  25. If Taggart ends up leaving for another program what Woodie does is the least of our problems at that point.
