Imagine the increase for an OCS.

Students should fully fund it ... They will be the main beneficiaries.

No. Why should students even subsidize athletics (in an academics setting) in the first place?

If you are going to use student fees; the school better find other routes for fund raising (donors, alumni, and contracts)....

I am glad that you do not run our athletic program.

Did they consider other options, or was this the only thing they could come up with?  I feel like that is USF's default on athletics:  make the students pay.

Do the student's have to pay to get into any of the games (e.g. football, basketball, baseball, etc.)?

Not for a ticket.  They are charged a fee for Athletics as part of the tuition bill.  Purty sure anyway.

No.. it's all covered by the fees.

They can attend any home game of any sport for free.

...And use of the Bull Runner to go to the games.. and now discounted parking.. and other perks.

They get free tickets. Don't get that at most schools. Look at it as students just paying for their tickets.

At some schools students actually camp out a week+ in advance to get/keep their place in line for tickets.

Glad I am no longer a student.

Students subsidizing non-academics... This is uniquely American.

But, at least we aren't Ohio Univ.

Almost every university does it...even the 1aa school I teach at.

Not too bad...but I hope Genshaft has at least considered other forms of income rather than just immediately shifting this extra burden onto the students again.

Better this way than making them pay separately to go to the games. Maybe more will go if they figure they're already paying for it ....

Call me a capitalist but ...

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
