Big decision for Lance and his family. Seems like a smart guy who hasn't been given his shot to run the show yet.

I was thinking the same thing... He's got a great gig at Stanford, that's a nice part of Cali, and he recruits for one of the top schools in the world, let alone the US.... I don't think its a situation that no one wants to come here, but I would have to think about it before I moved across the US to take a job that will take me away from my family even more....

hell, I'm torn about taking a job in Virginia Beach due to the relocation..... not an easy choice I'm sure

I agree but getting a shot at a DC position is a big promotion. Even if its at a nonBCS big east school. Just the upgrade in responsibilities enhances ones resume.

Andy Drukarev â€@StanfordRivals

I've confirmed that #Stanford outside linebackers coach Lance Anderson has been offered the #USF DC job. He hasn't decided whether to accept

Appears to have zero Florida connections. Something tells me that no one wants this job. WOW.

you realize he was named national recruiter of the year by scout in 2012 right? He landed 4 five star players last year. WT brings the Florida connections that he needs to be a successful recruiter here. This would be a great hire.

Agree. Think it's a good hire and better than Chucky.

Wouldn't be bad to poach a Cali kid now and then. If he can get 4's and 5's that qualify for Stanford, he would do wonders in any Florida school. ;)

They both started at Stanford together.

http://blogs.mercurynews.com/collegesports/2007/02/21/stanford-football-harbaugh-puts-his-staff-together/

Here’s a quick rundown of Harbaugh’s assistants and their backgrounds:

Running backs coach Willie Taggart: Coached quarterbacks for seven years at Western Kentucky.

Defensive line coach Lance Anderson: Coached at Bucknell for four years and at Idaho State and USD for two years each.

BTW, read the comments at the bottom of the article for a good laugh.

But he has no Florida ties! And anyone can recruit and win at Stanford!

Really? They were trash until Harbaugh got there.

Oh, the Oracle at Scout named him "National Recruiter of the Year". Woooooooo. Maybe coaching at one of the most prestigious Universities in the Country might have had something to do with his recruiting skills. Any kid with more than 4 functioning brain cells would cream himself to get into Stanford. If he can't recruit FL, he ain't for us. We saw how much traction the Holtz name got us in FL. Wanna do that again?

Didn't Holtz basicly only recruit Florida? Your argument makes no sense.

Holtz didn't recruit anywhere. Isn't that painfully obvious? Willie has stirred up more noise here in 1 month than Skippy did in 3 years.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
