That's a shame about Franks and Rachel. I knew both and they were real good guys. I do think it's a little shady that CWT kept them on for supporting duties for a month and then let them go. I saw that CWT named Sharrod Everett the DFO...does that mean Larry Antonucci has been fired too?

How's that shady? It gave them time to look for another job, while being paid.

It's shady because of the way it's presented to the staffers who remain. They're given the impression that they'll be retained so they bust their asses for a month or two to no avail. It's tantamount to a "carrot-on-a-stick" type of deal. If you want to get rid of previous staff, fine, but just do it right away and bring in your own people. A fast "no" is much better than a slow "maybe".

If you see the thread that says CWT hasn't brought in a quality recruit since he has arrived, one might question how great a job they have done since he was hired.

I'd be shocked if USF hires Troy Walters over former Bull Marquel Blackwell. Only one spot left on Off. staff

What makes you think they were given the impression they would be retained? Have you been told this by the staff in question?

Yeah, I know some of them.

If what you say is true, that changes things a bit. Still, they had to expect it was a long shot to be retained, right?

Chad Bishop â€@MrChadBishop

Have been told by three different sources today that former Western Kentucky tight ends coach Stu Holt will join Willie Taggart at USF.

I never said every coach has to be hip..I just said why are we going for someone who is clearly old and regressing in his coaching. If he was any good he wouldnt have gone to akron. Those are the facts. You do not leave FSU for Akron. It wasnt a move by choice and Akron probably said hey he used to be worth something. I dont care what he did 10 years ago and because he had the best defensive player in the world. Did he bring that kid in????? If not then he got lucky to have them. He is a has been coach..and to me does not bring you any connection to kids anymore.

Clint did bring in all those kids to UL..nice try though...Im not saying age has everything to do with it. There are plenty of hip old guys. He is not on the radar. He is outdated. If we brought in someone from a current top defense it would make sense for recruits. Im not saying he will be an instant fix and a quality DC. It might help get the kids in here to make that job easier to begin with.

As mentioned several times, he was out for two years dealing with cancer. He was at Akron because the Bowden family tree gave him a spot there while awaiting something else to come open. Not unusual at all.

He should have had many more options...

Wally Burnham...came to usf when they were nothing...I dont get your comparison..It was a demotion for him..and he did well for himself. We are giving him a promotion from Akron to USF. That doesnt make sense. We should be giving someone a promotion.

247 had a tweet earlier about someone else interviewing for the DC position today... Not sure who, I don't have a subscription.
