  1. I guess the irony of this article is lost on the author (Dodd). Not only did Leavitt lose the program he built from scratch, he'll always have articles like this written about him no matter how well he does in college football or back in the pros.
  2. FSU has decided to suspend Jameis Winston indefinitely after discovering he's a member of ISIS.
  3. ESPN's Brett McMurphy is now reporting that it was actually Jameis Winston who brought Ebola to the U.S.
  4. The Ravens just scored another touchdown.
  5. FSU and the pd probably didn't take her seriously because she changed her story several times. The FSU and Tallahassee PD's do suck, but it still doesn't mean he raped her. Also, they met at Potbelly's. The only people that go to Pot's are fraternities, sororities, athletes and girls looking to be picked up by said frat boys or athletes. I know that seems like a crass generalization, but it's true. I'd also find it very hard to believe the accuser didn't know who she was leaving the bar with. Again, I have more issues with Winston's other crimes than I do with this.
  6. I can't speak for who may be doing it now, but at the same time, whatever McMurphy currently breaks about USF pales in comparison to what he was getting back then.
  7. I'm 100% certain McMurphy's mole (at least for the USF "problem" articles and Leavitt's demise) was a guy named Daryle Wong. He was a recruiting assistant for the Bulls for several years in the mid-2000s and forged a close relationship with McMurphy. He was also close with many USF players at the time and also many USF athletic personnel who still remain there. Leavitt ended up firing Wong but even so he stayed close with some of the players and was still able to feed damning information to Brett while he was at the Trib and thereafter. Wong ended up going to UCF (where he was fired) and also Penn State (where he was fired). What goes around, comes around.
  8. I'm pretty sure Winston didn't sexually assault the girl. Obviously I don't know that for certain, but like theman123 said, there's too many holes and inconsistencies in her story(ies). I'm more concerned with his other issues. I can see him doing these his freshman year and before he was the BMOC, but once you win a national championship AND the Heisman, you're thrust into the national spotlight and much more is expected of you in terms of responsibility.
  9. Rutgers got into BY FAR the worst of the P5 conferences. Congrats...
  10. You mean the fans that wanted Hoke over Rich Rod and now want Hoke fired? Those fans? I didn't say they were smart. BTW, Hoke's record doesn't change the fact that Rich Rod failed there. Rich Rod is a great coach, Michigan just wasn't a good fit. That's like saying Pete Carroll is a bad coach because of what happend in New York and then Belichick is bad for what happend in Cleveland. Excellent point. Sometimes coaches get into a situation where it just doesn't work out. Pete Carroll failed in New England too. Ironically, Belichick was his successor.
  11. I went to USF and FSU and, after the crab legs incident, I stopped defending the guy. Taking drinks from fast food restaurants is pretty minor and I really don't think he raped the girl. But stealing crab legs and recently doing this idiotic event is getting harder and harder to take. The latest as a stand-alone incident isn't that big of a deal, but in lieu of the spotlight on him from all of the previous stuff, it's just mind-bogglingly stupid. Another major incident and I think he should be removed from the team, even if it risks a fourth National Championship.
  12. Things won't get much better for the Marlins unless Loria sells the team. I've heard Micky Arison has expressed interest, but it's probably not going to happen anytime soon though.
  13. This was too funny. Oh how the mighty have fallen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dQy-TxoD7E#t=0
  14. Foley has all but said he's going to give Muschamp another year.
  15. Of the big three, the Gators and their fans have been the most arrogant towards us. I have no sympathy towards their current plight.
  16. If there was nothing to this a year ago, then there shouldn't be any more to it right now. I'm sure the fact that FSU is #2 and Winston is the frontrunner for the Heisman has something to do with it... Whoever the supposed victim is wants some money...
  17. Not that I'm rooting against White, but this is EXACTLY why I don't get high on a player after only one game. The post-Houston White adulation (i.e., will be the greatest USF QB ever!) was ridiculous way premature.
  18. When you rush for 2 yards, fair catch at the 5 with 3 minutes left, rough the quarterback on 3rd and long, and give up two sacks on the final drive...you don't deserve to win. The Bucs completely dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Congrats to them.
  19. I'm starting to wonder if Ireland has pictures of Ross having sex with a 12-year-old girl or something...
  20. I know it's natural instinct for a db to catch that ball but a headier play would have been to drop it before he hit the ground ... I agree. It was a fourth down play and he caught it way down the field. If he had 'dropped' it, the Bucs would've had the ball deep in Miami territory. I realize there's not much of a difference since there was about 1:30 left and Miami only had one timeout left, but Revis should've been smarter than that.
  21. Southern Miss was easily our biggest rival until leaving C-USA. Their fans at the games were the absolute worst. Much of the student section was strategically placed right behind the opponent's sideline, and the space between the field and the stands was next-to-nothing. This, of course, created the perfect storm for heckling. I remember being down there and their fans were throwing stuff at us and saying virtually every racist thing they could. I realize some heckling is commonplace, but what they did was way over the line. And I agree with MikeG...Skip wasn't a bad guy and just not the coach for this program. The difference between the two is Skip didn't intentionally hurt us, whereas Southern Miss did.
  22. You know the Gators are bad when it hurts FSU's strength of schedule when they play.
  23. No one else will get into the BCS national championship game if FSU & Bama win out. Again, it's theirs to lose.
