  1. Actually- it was Alex Perlman that had it on twitter first. I follow both of them, and Alex had it first. It was probably announced to the press at the same time. Well that's a relief. Still hate McMurphy though. Yeah. Total scumbag.
  2. Still lots of time though. We need to get our **** together soon or this is going to be a worse season than last year.
  3. I'm ecstatic that George did so well. Hopefully he can keep it going through the preseason. As a Dolphins fan, I am a little concerned about the left tackle position vacated by Jake Long. Hopefully they get that shored up by the start of the season or Tannehill's going to have a rough time.
  4. Looks like he just got a pass deflection at the line.
  5. Selvie's having a helluva game thus far...2 sacks, 1 tackle for loss and 2 hurries.
  6. Wow, and 15 of those are on the defensive side of the ball.
  7. So far he's got a tackle for loss and a sack. Nice job!
  8. It's interesting how differently soccer conducts its transactions.
  9. Can't wait for football season too! I'd say my favorites are (in no order): Friday Night Lights The Longest Yard (original) Remember The Titans Varsity Blues Rudy Brian's Song Two others that are pretty old and may be worth a look are: Knute Rockne, All American (with Ronald Reagan) and Horse Feathers (with the Marx Brothers)
  10. It's one thing if Tino was hitting him or something of the like, but grabbing his jersey and calling him names??? Give me a break. Like gausfbull said, some players are just soft these days.
  11. Dwyane Wade's ex, Siovaughn Funches, was out on a Chicago sidewalk claiming she's homeless this past weekend. Pretty funny, and sad... She probably tried to get on the show 'Basketball Wives' and even they thought she was too crazy. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/dwayne-wade-ex-wife-made-mockery-homelessness-lawyer-article-1.1406882
  12. There are some places in Europe, western Asia, and Africa where you can get beaten up by opposing fans/hooligans if you're wearing a rival club's colors (purposely or accidentally)...crazy!
  13. Okay, so competition balance within football and baseball may not be as far off as we think, but like Databull said, competition between the leagues is still way off.
  14. With the Bruins losing the Stanley Cup, Doc Rivers leaving for LA, Ray Allen winning a championship with the Miami Heat, and the Aaron Hernandez debacle, it sure hasn't been a good week for Boston sports.
  15. Until 2011 you had to sell out your game to have your game home broadcast. Between 1998 and 2008 the Bucs sold out every home game. In 2009, they weren't selling out games, but the owners were buying the left over seats by the cut off date so the games could be televised locally. In 2010 they stopped doing it. At one point, the blackout reached 10 games, might have been more. For 2012 the NFL lowered tickets sold to 85% because some markets, not just Tampa, were struggling to sell out. You can find all kind of stories about it on the Net. Oh I understand the blackout rule. I was just curious about the part about the Dolphins having blackouts. I had no idea they didn't sellout during the undefeated seasons, and especially since that was the only major sports franchise in town at the time. Of course they sold out. The NFL rule was different back then, NO home games on TV. Yeah, I was pretty sure they had. Thanks for clarifying.

  17. Slick your last point piqued my interest. Were the blackouts due to non-sellouts or for another reason? Thanks.
  18. Man, that wasn't easy. The Spurs are such a great team and they're first-class from top to bottom. It's a shame one of these teams had to lose...either one could've deserved it. That's three championships now... Go Heat!!!
  19. Haha way to prod. I think it's based on how many pts he can give/get rather than Miami just winning straight-up, though. I wouldn't touch game seven either if I were a betting man. Too many variables.
  20. People were leaving? When ? In the 3rd and beginning of 4th? Didnt even notice that. Yeah apparently a lot of fans were leaving when it was 93-89 with 30 seconds to go. I can't believe that. I saw that too when I was at game one. I was like: You guys paid hundreds of dollars for tickets (and I mean hundreds...), the game is still within reach, you call yourself Heat fans...AND YOU'RE LEAVING! A regular game is one thing, game 1 was bad enough, but game 6...that's just pathetic. I heard the ones that left early were trying to get back in and were becoming very beligerrent. Security and then police got involved. No one was re-admiited, as per policy. GOOD...F THEM. They're not real fans in my book and didn't deserve to be there in the first place or ever again, for that matter. I hate bandwagon Heat haters and bandwagon Heat fans. Here's the link too: http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/06/miami-heat-fans-leave-finals-game-way-too-early/
  21. It was a great game! I'm going to game 7. I went to game 1 too...so hopefully 7 will end up better!
  22. Ah, geez...all these 7s. 7 pts to the Heat, your 7th straight win, game will force game 7 which will be 7 yrs to the day later than the Heat's first championship in 2006. I just hope you're right and it truly is lucky number 7.
  23. Yeah, the Heat couldn't beat the Bobcats or Magic if the numbers were like that, much less the Spurs. It's just crazy (and frustrating for a Heat fan especially) that the Heat's defense was stifling and so active in game four and completely inept and non-existent in game five.
