Why wouldn't he like Taggart? Grothe and Taggart are both locals, I thought Grothe would approve...

Because he wants one of his boys to be head coach.

I could care less who he approves of. He's not making the decision.

I think our AD is just doing his due diligence and interviewing his top candidates. I think Taggart will be our next coach by early next week. No offense to Grothe, but I don't think he is much of an insider to the coaching search.

So if Grothe used that stupid twitter to announce he heard Taggart was coming you wouldn't believe it? Or you saying that because Grothe said something you did not want to hear?

I sure hope the Canales thing is a joke.

Far as I can tell Grothe is dead serious about it. Makes sense too, he played for Canales and probably still keeps in touch with him. Doesn't make it a great idea for USF.

I really do doubt he's on the know. If Auman tweets Taggart's out, I'll believe it.

I get the impression that a lot of it is an emotional thing.

Grothe played under Canales and of course USF won a lot with Grothe at QB. In fairness, he did make Phillip Rivers a top five draft pick.

Taggart is surely an up and coming coach. I don't know what's going through Grothe's head, but Canales would require a lot of work. I think he will probably at least get an interview.

Canales wasn't impressive at all. If it wasn't for Groethe and his insane ability to improvise, the offense back then would've been as impotent as it was this season.

Taggart being out of the running would be shocking, honestly.

Didn't Grothe play 1 season under Rod Smith, 2 under Greg Gregory, and 2.5 games under Canales?
