Opposite end of the field from our fans and a questionable non TD by our tight end. I remember that!

In college you have to think ahead and not just react. And THIS element is where the glaring coaching disparity truly is. Installing cute plays to be creative is one thing, but teaching and correcting high school habits should be the primary focusing for incoming freshmen. With all the tape coaches have on players before they even become HS seniors, it baffles me that it seems notes aren’t being passed on what habits have to be worked out before Week 2/3. Simple things like: throwing the ball away, sliding properly, and commanding urgency to the line at all times should be the first focuses taught in the QB room before reps are even allocated. They ran the right play. It wasn’t there, throw it away. Live to play by another down. But if you go back and look at the lack of urgency, not panic, urgency, it might be the most frustrating thing. We should have had more time to begin with. Also if you look at that last play, Mitchell was motioning for him to spike it. Never leave a game up to he refs.
