This....while a win would be nice for sure even if we lose but look respectable and put up a good fight and lose due to depth I could deal with that.  It would also I think give the team confidence towards conference play since ND is better than any conference team we face this year.

What is more National than the USA?  Playing  the #7 team is big even if they played it on the food network.

South Florida Bulls at No. 7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (-26, 50), 2:30 p.m. ET

• South Florida has covered nine of its past 11 as an underdog of at least 21 points. The under is also 10-0 in those games (one game without a listed total).

• Since 2016, Notre Dame is 4-10-2 ATS versus unranked opponents as an AP Top-10 team.

• Under is 12-5-1 when Notre Dame is a favorite of at least 24 points (includes all games in our database with over/under data).

Stats to know: Notre Dame's season opener against Duke was a tale of two halves. The Fighting Irish gave up 246 yards in the first two quarters, but just 86 after halftime.

I was excited we got on ESPNU last week. Playing on Hallmark channel in between romance movies would be a national TV win in my book.

The line has moved down to USF -24. The betting public doesn't see us losing by more than 4 TDs, so we have that going for us!
