I don’t think you could look at any of his staffs and find much big time experience - aside from Wally Burnham and Carl Franks - especially as a head coach. He did just fine with guys like Rick Kravitz, Mike Canales, Greg Frey, etc. Edited December 23, 2019 by Dave_Glaser

I think having a former HC (e.g. Franks) would give Scott someone objective to mentor him and point things out he may be missing. As the HC Scott is going to look at things through a different lens and have learn to give some control to his coaches and that can be tough for a first time HC to do. Having an experienced former HC can help with that part of Scott's development. He'll have his dad

He has been training his entire life to be a head coach and has learned from the best From bowden all the way to Dabo. He doesn't need a mentor. I like it. If you are in his shoes. 38 years old. First time Head Coach at this level....do you really want a bunch of older former head coaches around? I could see them undermining you the 1st minute they don't agree with one of your decisions. I am sure there will be a learning curve.

We need to get that USF swagger and energy back after CCS killed it...

Well the DC and OC have experience at those positions so that is good and not learning on the job the position.
