How much experience did the staff have at UCF when they hired Frost? Dabo at Clemson? Riley at Oklahoma? CJS spent years under a coach, that was only to be the interim, who took a mediocre team in Clemson and turn them into a perennial National Championship contender. We've tried the, "prior head coach route". Dabo had experience on his 1st staff: Dabo Swinney – Head Coach Billy Napier – Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Kevin Steele – Defensive Coordinator/Inside Linebackers Charlie Harbison – Co-Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Backs Danny Pearman – Assistant Head Coach/Tackles & Tight Ends Brad Scott – Associate Head Coach/Offensive Guards and Centers Dan Brooks – Defensive Tackles Andre Powell – Running Backs/Special Teams Chris Rumph – Defensive Ends Jeff Scott – Recruiting Coordinator/Wide

I know that if I was a player looking for my best opportunities to play college football, I don't care where my coach is from or if his mother lives in Deltona. It comes down to more than that more often than not.

It seemed like the last staff was completely out of touch with the players. Also, if you are young, I think you are more impatient to see results so if something doesn't work you may be willing to make an adjustment versus......"We just need to execute better". If they struggle, hopefully they will learn something, adjust and improve. Look at how Charlie Weis Jr. (26 years old) did against SMU. Now look at how Kerwin Bell (54 years old) did against SMU. Not saying they are apples to apples but I get tired of these stubborn old coaches telling me how great their coaching is because of things they have done in the past. Ditto. No problem with this since CJS was a tight end coach so prob more involved than just letting him loose w/o direction and monitoring. I had no problem back when WT brought Kinnan over from Manatee HS. There are some pretty **** good/successful high school coaches just waiting to get takes to the next level. When Manatee HS would line up against Sarasota Riverview it looked like two D2 teams on the field. The bigger highs chools play at an elevated level. Players evolve as do their coaches. I feel good about these coaching hires so far. Interesting.
