Willie woke up from his inception dream in a dream in a dream and realized this was his dream.

Willie just cashed out for $30M+guaranteed  in 3 years. anyone one this board would do that without question.

Point of order, Willie was not a loser here. Charlie and Skippy were.  Willie put in 4 years of hard work and left for triple the salary.

just proves the leapers are winners

And Willie stepped stone on us and our first iteration after his departure was Charlie Strong.  An expensive failure.  That should be enough to know the risks in hiring rental coaches and being their stepping stone.  Then Charlie failed. Now will lay out for another one...I hope it fares better sometime soon.

And skip signed up for a BCS conference. Its a different ball game now. I guess we're lucky he was a bad coach so that we didn't have to see him jump when we got demoted.

I think a more accurate description would be a bad fit here. His other total body of work rips the bad coach description to threads.

Yes, Skippy was a bad coach for us/USF and that is all that matters.

It is not Willie's fault that the AD at the time of his departure was unable to hire the correct candidate for the job of HC of football.  Tags did what was asked of him here, turn this mess around.  Similar to what we are asking of our next coach.

What if we are so progressive that we are the 1st program to hire a woman as their HC. I will take a human before a sentient being.

What If ??? Due to our Preeminence status...CJS  didn't have a high enough grade point avg at Clemson to get him into USF  ????  It's all in his "permanent file" to be dredged up and used against him...🥴

Charlie was an expensive failure for sure, but that can't be blamed on the "rental coach" thing IMO....just a bad hire/contract by the previous AD. Going forward, what coaches do you think would win big here, and not bolt for P5 jobs at the drop of a hat....outside of possibly Jim Leavitt, which likely will never happen? AAC and Rental Coach go hand in hand.   No successful coach will be sticking around with any AAC team. It's been that way, and will remain that way. Good coaches....and Chad Morris, who bolted SMU with a 14-22 record for the Arkansas gig, go to the big leagues and leave us behind. Reality sucks sometimes. Jeff Scott will either move on due to success, or get canned for sucking in the next 3-4 years. It is what it is. Too lazy to look it up, but what's the average tenure for an AAC coach since the league came into existence?

Charlie was an expensive failure because we thought we could keep him by overpaying for him. If we just rented him we would have been better off.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
