I hear that, but I also think Jeff Scott's reputation alone should be enough to keep those recruits. I imagine those guys will be excited at the idea of coming to play for the Clemson national championship winning Co-OC.

By most accounts Norvell doesn’t recruit Florida well, plus Miami was down this year. Hopefully he can come in and flip some kids and put together a good class

I appreciate all that Leavitt did, but c'mon.

How many 10 win seasons did he lead the program to?

But he won a Bowl. That right there makes him one of the greats.

Disrespecting the Godfather will gain you no goodwill here.

Except he only had two losing seasons in 13 years.

Two Clemson guys were at the top of my list. Glad we could pull one of them.

Leavitt was my number 1 hire. The Clemson guys were 2nd for me. So I am happy, just not ecstatic.

It worries me too. If he is such an up and comer, wouldn't he have been hired by Missouri or another p5 school. There have been many misses on hires from great programs. Their last OC that got hired away was Chad Morris and that didn't work out very well. If it comes out that the board of trustees nixed Leavitt, I will have no trust in the program.

I don’t see your logic. So if he is so good he should be at a P5 program? Hell if that is your benchmark then we would never be able to hire a coach. I am glad he got none of those offers or we would have ended up with some dude from Valley State.

Also, not all P5 jobs are, "good" jobs.  It's possible that he was contacted by Missouri, Arkansas, etc., but felt he could be more successful here while waiting for one of the premier jobs to open up.

The guy recruits Florida. His Dad recruited Florida. They have Florida chops and know where their bread is buttered.
