You're right....I had to look it up because I really don't follow the Knights much.  The first source either had it wrong or I read it wrong.  So last year of Frost and first year of Heupel? Second year of Heupel - 3 losses, no conf champ, no division champ, no undefeated season.  Trend .

Rest remains accurate. 

Edit:  you didn't count the bowl game loss under Heupel.

So back to back regular season.  Loss in bowl.  Trend

On a high school level, I have had head coaches call me and try to line me up on their staff, but they didn't have the job sewed up.  It was either to present the staff as part of the consideration/interview process or simply to be ready if hired.  Not saying it is impossible that Leavitt has an offer, just saying he could be lining coaches up for other reasons...

He mentioned it was for the USF job. That's what they're targeting. All in for it apparently

And technically, they don't have to hire a new coach every time they meet with success and hope that coach can be as successful as the previous one.  So yes, while your comparison is accurate, your context is off.
