@Skingraft  Said it best with this (from yet another portal-related thread.).  A picture paints 1000 words.

Can we get 2 IPFs, or a double decker IPF with 2 fields to double our chances for winning?

While he develops younger players!?

What about the players he should have been developing for the past three years? What would change in year four that hasn't already happened?

#ThePortal is a single tool in a sea of tools for building and running a football program. It isn't the only tool and certainly isn't the most important one.

I know people like to bash me for suggesting the portal should be used to patch positions, but Strong admits it on the press conference. If he gets another year,  he needs at least 10 players from P5 to fill the following positions, while he develops younger players.

1. QB

2. RB

3. LB

4. Safety

5. OL

6. DL

Just think, some of you suggested that Sawtelle was better than Macon. LOL

Grades for portal transfers:

Macon B+

Studstill B

Sails B

Slade B

Jones Incomplete

Rygol...need to see more of but seems to be a solid backup that probably better than current starter.

Thaxton Incomplete

Look, I have no problem with using the portal to fill holes. I like most, if not all of the players that we brought in this offseason. The problem here is that even with all of this, we are a bad football team. These are short term (1-2 year) fixes, that take up a scholly from a potential 3-4 year contributor. That will come back to bite you down the road. Even with the short term bandaid, we are a garbage team.

The scariest part is you’re telling me that our HC, who is supposed to be a very good recruiter, is going to need to bring in at least 10 guys to fill out this roster in year 4?!? Year 4?? That’s almost 50% of our starting lineup.

We already know the guy isn’t a good motivator. We know for certain he’s not even an average in game manager. And now you’re telling me that he hasn’t been able to recruit/develop enough so he needs to go get 50% of his starting lineup from other programs? Yeah, give him the $5 mill and tell him to GTFO

Are you Bi-Polar? That's an honest question from a concerned board member.

Can we throw Corey into the portal for some 5 star talent?

If the portal worked like that maybe it could actually be the unreasonable salvation he thinks it can be.
