Let us not forget. Our good friends at ESPN have countless hours to fill, and the loss of revenue and advertising from a televised championship game or bowl game takes food from the mouths of James Pitaro's kids.

You mean like getting up to change the channel?  Of which there were 3 in the Philadelphia area until they added a few UHF channels.  New York had a few more put the antenna on top of our house in Trenton didn't pull them in very well.

My dad had a remote he called "son".  "Son, get up and change the channel".  On LI, we had about four VHF and three UHF.  No one really watched the UHF and its programming was mysterious.  UHF makes me want to look at the TV and yell, "Run Carolann, run."

If playoffs ever get expanded with a required G5 school the AAC would never get in under that format.

Why not?  If the slot is for the highest CFP ranked G5 conference champion (or just the highest CFP ranked G5 team), what's the difference whether you played a championship game or not?

It’s simple. The difference between getting the NYD bowl or not for the G5 is always close...one or two rankings separate them. Not playing the game will cause the conference to get jumped. You are also neglecting that if we decided not to play the championship then ESPN will take money from us as the game is always a ratings boost to them and is part of our tv contract. In the end, your idea is a non starter.

AAC needs to add Appalachian State. You guys hate the idea, but they have been averaging 10 games a year and they are ranked this year.

We don't want to add teams that can beat USF.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
