Per a couple conversations with some longtime Navy fans in another thread, I think it's best that we add AirForce, Army and 1 of CSU/BYU/Boise.  Don't care if football only or not.  Having all 3 academies would greatly boost national fan bases and tv revenue.  If the AAC wants to go to 16 then add the other 2 of CSU/BYU/Boise.  This just seems like a slam dunk to be a true P6 and a bit of security for at least the next decade.

Agreed...but a 16 team conference has too many mouths to feed.

Way too much money would be lost for that to be a consideration...

And the money unfortunately is the root cause of all of this (not that it will change)

If we had made it to the P5 and not got left behind in the G5 money would be the best part of College Football.

Waiver is only good for two years then Aresco is going to try and get the NCAA requirement changed. If this fails the conference will have to kick a team out (unlikely but I vote Tulsa anyway) or add a team.

better hope like hell they don't kick us out...it's getting to be one of those> if you don't change your ways situations as we continue this downward skid...worrisome

relative to market and academic quality, we could lose every game for next ten years and would not get kicked out of this conference...

"If network subscribers aren't the most important metric, how much will the Big 12 care that USF provides the nation's No. 11 TV market? Will leagues care more about raw viewership, wherever it's from? And what about other factors, like online impressions, Google search data and fervent fan bases willing to pay extra for more content?"

That's a great point and one many on this board do not agree with...but I do. Just because we are selling tickets this is not the only metric of importance. For me, how many are actually attending is most important as it represents the true interest in the program. A good salesperson can sell tickets to corporation and they will buy to make their community partners feel good, but do they really care enough to go? Same thing for TV, just because you have the potential of viewers does not mean they care enough to watch...especially where there are more fans of the Noles and the Gators.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
