AAC needs to add Appalachian State. You guys hate the idea, but they have been averaging 10 games a year and they are ranked this year.

You are correct we hate the idea.

LA Tech regularly dominates CUSA, maybe we can take them.

None of it has anything to do with how good a team is as this is typically cyclical anyway. We need people who follow the team and watch them on tv. If BYU is no go then Air Force, Army, or Colorado State should be considered (in that order).

App State hands down has been the most consistent team for the past decade. There is nothing cyclical with them

App State has been beating P5 Schools, ranked teams and most G5 teams they have faced. They been a 10 win team for over a decade. We will NEVER steal a team from the Mountain West so unless we get one of the military academies (which I prefer) App State is our best option in terms of adding "quality" football

They might have "quality" football, but they don't have that brand name recognition that would be more beneficial for our conference.

Kick out Tulsa, and bring in Army and BYU.  That would be ideal, but it probably has no chance to happen because I think they like being independents.  They can schedule anybody they want.  But wouldn't it be great to have "another" big rivalry game in the conference Army/Navy.  It might just surpass that "other" big rivalry game in the conference every year!

App State has beaten 1 P5 school in the past decade (North Carolina this year).   For the most part the rest of their success has been against Sun Belt and other mediocre G5 teams.   The early part of this decade was pretty mediocre.  They picked it back up a few years ago (hence cyclical) and gave a couple P5 teams a run for their money and then beat North Carolina (3-4) this year.  They bring very little to the conference.

And no one is watching them outside of Boone.

Anyone that would consider joining the AAC obviously sucks, brings nothing to the table and should be disqualified from candidacy. We need to focus on getting out of this **** hole before we worry about how to further diminish the leagues “value”.

P5 conferences may be saying the same thing about us, minus the "quality football" part

Wonder who's watching us outside this area. Most fans around the country can't tell us apart from our rivals to the East.

Not saying App State would be my first pick, but they have done well, and would be competitive I believe. If winning isn't enough, what does a school like that have to do to move up? Is the Sun Belt their ceiling? P5 fans view us they way some of you view App State.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
