That's a great point and one many on this board do not agree with...but I do. Just because we are selling tickets this is not the only metric of importance. For me, how many are actually attending is most important as it represents the true interest in the program. A good salesperson can sell tickets to corporation and they will buy to make their community partners feel good, but do they really care enough to go? Same thing for TV, just because you have the potential of viewers does not mean they care enough to watch...especially where there are more fans of the Noles and the Gators.

And there is ONLY one way to improve on that perception. Whether we like it or not cable TV's will NOT get us into the P5. If that were the case, Pasco County alone is building more than 15,000 new houses in the next five years.

Or maybe the conference just drops the championship game

Personally, I do not like the championship games in CFB.

With the current 4 team playoff, championship games are a means for an otherwise undefeated team to lose (potentially eliminating them), as well as an additional chance for athletes to get hurt in a game whose outcome (conference winner) could be decided in other ways

Way too much money would be lost for that to be a consideration...

Just my opinion, but when the playoffs expand to 8, conference championships will matter.  My best guess is that it will be the P5 champs, highest ranked G5 champ, and two at-large teams.

This is setting a precedent for the B12 to continue with a championship game after they are raided and lose their best. It's a way of giving to the G5 with one hand and taking away with the very same hand. With this precedent the B12 will not have to expand when they lose teams an the status quo gets preserved.

IF it happens, then it depends on how much they lose.  You can't have a conference with 6 or 7 teams, they would have to expand to the State of Florida!!  Bring in us and Oveido College, problem solved!

I'd rather be granted (temporarily) a 13th regular season game if we play a true round robin (all other 10 teams) to determine our conference champion for bowl consideration.  We'd play every team in the conference every year plus have 3 OOC games, maybe 1 G5 and 2 P5  We could have a full slate of conference games on Championship Saturday.

Hope you are right. If the playoff system ever got better for us I will start watching again and pull for the G5

If playoffs ever get expanded with a required G5 school the AAC would never get in under that format.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
