Compare those two articles to these two, which were from about the same time last year...

The reporting really sounds about the same every year in the Spring.

Just wait til next year... Again.

All the Spring game tells you is if your offense sucks or your defense sucks.

So if we score a bunch the defense sucks and if we don't, the offense sucks?

I think this spring game is simply to show us that Bell has his system in and the players, for the most part, understand it. On defense to see if they have truly gone back to the basics of tackling.

We need to see how the defensive line performs.  We've got significant pass rush concerns hopefully the freshmen can over take the seniors.  I hear we moved a TE to DE is also not a great sign.  I think the rest of the team has potential and I definitely see the "juice" coming through on the video.  Wisky opener is going to be a great motivator for the players and coaches. The schedule in general is legit as we could make it.

I remember the time we moved a C to DE .... and that worked out pretty well. A lot of the times moves like this have more to do with assessing the player's ability and better utilizing him, not a dearth of talent at the position he's moving to ..... or a glut of talent at his old position, which would be a good sign.

Im writing off last year on conditioning,  youth, lack of experience and a crappy OC. Reports are that the conditioning has been addressed, we have plenty of young players with experience and 4 new coaches. I promise, its a total new team this year. The spring game shall make you feel more optimistic.

Do we have the same S&C coach?  I don't remember him leaving.

If you're talking about Selvie he moved to DE.

Im good with who we have. His accolades and high number of athletes he trained that made it 2 the league speaks for itself. Im not dismissing the decades of success this man had for ONE bad year at USF.
