Agreed, nice guy but HAS to go. I mean, losing Lee and Byrd cannot have impacted the D this much. So many times I saw the LBs take poor angles. That is down to practicing right and clearly Woodie is not getting the x's and o's right.

Didn't we lose a couple of good DEs also?

You should never get blown out dropping 30. Alas, we have no defense.

CWT knew this could be a special season and yet he gave his buddy his first crack to be a DC to run someone else's defense.  Should have brought in someone from the outside familiar with the 4-2-5.  Too much was at stake to let Woodie learn on the fly.

Agreed! I wonder if it was $ that contributed to this decision?

Agree, that was a skip move promoting Woodie. We should have had a serious look for a DC...let Woodie interview if interested.

Promoting friends in sports usually leads to people in positions they aren't qualified for.

It's not fire or anything like that at all. Watch the game film, it's schematically terrible. Constantly crashing in DEs and the LBs are always caught inside. Leaves a CB to set the edge, which led to poor Johnny Ward (who had an awful night in coverage) to serve as a whipping boy for the FB all night who had at least 50 lbs on him.

Any team can gash us by just sticking to run plays outside the tackles. Which will give them the added benefit of running clock and keeping the O off.

It has nothing to do with where Woodie is coaching. It's the terrible scheme the players are running.

absolute truth.

The scheme is awful. Hopefully Taggart realizes it and changes like he did with the offense.

He is running a nickel defense (4-2-5) against power run teams. It's not a one size fits all defense. Its meant to stop 3 or 4 wide not TE - FB heavy run offense. It's so frustrating to watch.

Unfortunately we have an offensive minded coach with a brand new defensive co-ordinator running an awful scheme.
