Very much a lawsuit coming for that screenshot.

He will be fine though. That's the main thing.

These could be a problem going forward, though ....

Can someone photoshop these to reflect the changes?!

That's a huge number. I had to take 4 just to digest it.

You must take a few days off from TBP and reflect on the error of your ways.

If I were smazza, I'd be on the horn to JPP having a bull-to-bull talk about this medical records leak.

Interesting.  According to this blog, only the team can release medical information about the player which is no what happened here.  So someone is on the hook, but not the media.  Looks like only a $50,000 fine, however.  If this is accurate, I don't see how they get a multi-million dollar judgment since the penalty is defined in the law.

But...there's always a but.  Florida privacy laws are actually more stringent in this case.  That is where a potential lawsuit would have more teeth.

Several different things happening legally.

Fines arising out of HIPAA violations would be against the hospital and paid to the feds.  Similar for any violation of state law and civil penalties.

There may be criminal penalties against the specific individual or individuals who leaked the information.

As for JPP, he could have a claim for damages against the hospital and whoever leaked the information, but he would have to show that he suffered damages. Given that the Giants rescinded their tender before the disclosure that may not be a slam dunk.
