Updated bracketology from 2/17 has us as a 7th seed playing in tallahassee. We would be playing FGCU in round 1 then FSU in round 2 and now in the same region as UCONN so we would have to beat them in the Elite 8 to get to the Final Four.

Not going to happen. We won't be put in the same region as UConn, even if it means we have to travel to California for the first round.

Why not?

They always split up conference members where they can, meaning different regions

And we don't rate special treatment, so we get the short end, meaning out-of-area travel

Bracketology has given USF a 6 which is our best seeding so far. Tenn is #1 and Baylor #2 in our bracket, but our road leading to them looks very "doable" to me.

USF is #24 RPI.

USF is #28 in new AP Poll, which is one spot better than last week.

Baylor will be a tough out if we get that far, one of their bigs can dunk it, I heard.

Still, I wouldn't mind this scenario

Again, I just pray that we avoid an 8 or 9 seed. It sets up an extremely difficult (ie. almost not winnable) match-up in the second round against one of the #1 seeds. I would much rather be a 10 or 11 seed than an 8/9. The difference in quality between a #1 seed and a #2/3 seed in women's basketball is shockingly large.

Right now.....my bracket has them in the West as the highest 7 seed facing Arkansas in the first round, with Baylor being the #1

USF moved up one place to #27 in the Coaches Poll. Only 16 points separate #24-#27.
