Jobs open? Let's speculate on coaching hires

If I'm Harlan, I just tell CWT, "You're 95% fired already. You're not my guy. I'm not going to be judged as an AD based on your failure. If you some how manage to convince me to keep you around after 2015, I look like a genius for sticking with you. If things stay the same, I get to bring in my guy. So, to get to the point, fire whoever you want and keep whoever you want. It's your ass, not mine. Close the door on your way out."

 

My guess is that this message was communicated to CWT in far more professional, tactful, but in no less uncertain terms. 

 

Probably why I don't get many management opportunities.

Purely conjecture, but a name I'd keep in mind (again) for #USF's DC job: Randy Shannon. He was speculated to be a candidate in Dec. 2012.

Spoke to a lot of up and coming coaches with interest in the #USF opening. Still a great job for young coaches who can recruit.

Randy Shannon would be a home run hire on so many levels....

 

OC is completely irrelevant in my opinion as Taggart's system is in place and he does not seem amendable to change....

I'm praying the OC/DC firing was motivated by Harlan and that the edict was spread or die. Obviously, Wulff wasn't that guy, so he was let go.

 

We've proven White and Pro style won't work. Taggart needs a Flowers spread to work for his job's sake.

^^^ I'd welcome it but I doubt he comes unless he gets some security that he'll remain on even if CWT goes. Yes he makes a lot of money to coach LBs at a P5 school but if he wants another crack at HC he'll need to take up a DC position. Florida is a good place to do it.

Maybe one of these guys is ambitious and hopes to take over if Taggart is fired? Or think they can turn us around under taggart?

It seems like a situation that would be hard to get a great hire.

Anyone know how much $$ we have to spend on OC/DC?

 

Any chance Anthony Henry would want to coach our DBs?  He's Green & Gold, and knows very well what it likes to build a solid team and pay dues along the way.  Would likely recruit well, as a success story of USF to NFL.
