Another horrible experience last night. If USF intends to put together that kind of crap for an OCS, I'll pass. Texas builds better high school stadiums with better parking. It's really unbelievable watching people drag their tailgating supplies 15 minutes in one direction to put it back in their cars, then have to walk back 25 minutes the other direction to get into the aluminum stadium. It's a joke. Were you at UCF yesterday? You have to hate Life and what makes College Football Gamedays great if you are complaining about the atmosphere on the UCF Campus that started at 11am and went way past midnight. And if you can afford a Garage or Lot D parking pass your tent and tailgate stuff is literally 2 minute walk from your car. UCF had well over 50,000 plus fans tailgating on campus yesterday.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGRZQ8XCtls&feature=youtu.be while this is USF's campus on their game days: Funny thing is, that isn't even the main USF campus! Don't confuse Knight fans with facts. I promise you there aren't anywhere near 40K people tailgating. The vast majority of football fans do not tailgate. That is a fact. Sorry I know I just confused them again. Link? The vast majority of college football fans don't go to games either. That can be better deduced based on tv ratings, etc ... The tailgating one would be interesting to see some figures on.

I'm thinking the figure is less than that .... and nooooow I get it. Yeah, that was my point. I've actually looked for numbers and can't find any. Surely someone has calculated this before. The American Tailgating Association (or something like that) claims that the number of tailgaters has been rising about 12% per year. But they have no figures for what percentage of fans that go to a game tailgate.

The total number of tailgaters each year is estimated (on the high end) to be about 50mil. Other estimates are as low as 20mil. This number includes all events (football, other sports, concerts, etc). It's about 30% NCAA, 30% NFL and 40% everything else combined. These numbers include people that do not attend the event in question. So if we are exceedingly generous, we can reach about 18mil tailgaters for football. That would mean the national average is a tailgate attendance that is about 38% of the game attendance. Lots of other things to do on a Saturday afternoon in Florida, and this is The World's Largest Cocktail type tailgate like there is for the Florida-Georgia game that lasts for days. No reason to think that UCF would be above average. So a good number would be around 16-17K tailgaters for Houston-UCF.

Worst game day experiences I have had. The UCF fans I encountered were complete a$$holes. I was in the bathroom in Orlando and was pushed in the back while at the urinal and some UCF douche came right to my back while I was pissing and started yelling at me. Ridiculous.!Cars all over the lot after the 2007 game were damaged with broken windows and kicked in doors and fenders. Constant taunting and extreme language. I've had interaction with tons of fans from other teams and never had to deal with that crap.

Man that I almost as bad as the Ray Jay rules. I remember my first year we took the SAE bus and parked the night before until the changed the rules. When so people claim their tailgating spots. At Texas a&M if I recall correctly 6PM Friday evening is the earliest you could claim a tailgating spot. In some areas people would be lined up all around the grass waiting until they gave the green light. Many people just would mark out their area with wooden stakes and that bright colored construction tape.
