It was 4th and 1 in a 36-24 game, less than 2:00 on the clock, inside their 40, and 1 yard would have broken the record. So basically, CWT said, "I'm going to give the ball to a guy with 275 yards and see if he can get 1 more to literally end the game. And oh yeah, it will also break the single game record."

QFT

I'm confused...it was 4th and 1 and he got that one yard to tie the record...but we still turned it over on downs?? I definitely don't remember them bringing out the chains....

according to the link i posted, it was 3rd and 2 and mack ran for 1 yard, then ran again when it was 4th and 1 and didn't get the yard, therefore didn't break the record.

I would have gone for it then also.  You get it and you've pretty much iced the game.

Yeah, but if you fumble you let them back in the game.  If you punt even if you give them the ball at the 20, you've pretty much iced the game.  No brainer to punt in that situation, especially since Mack had already put the ball on the ground twice - once it went out of bounds.

Right. Nothing can possibly go wrong on a punt ... Best option would just have been a qb sneak with the newly muscled MW hugging the ball for all he's worth.

If we were on their 38, I'd let Kloss try a long FG rather than run. He has the leg and a FG would have iced it too.

Methinks he was trying to get the record for Mack.

That's a worse choice than the punt .... Too many things that can go wrong.
