Had to win the Big "Easy" when after 1 game you are already chasing.

That is true, but I think we'll see each team lose at least 1 conference game this year.

If the Ville continues to play strong and stay healthy, I do not see them losing any conference games this season. I think Teddy is that good.

Self-realization is often a painful process. I think a lot of us are just coming to grips with what we truly are and don't like it. Not to say we can't change but our traits are pretty deeply ingrained.

That means we have to win 6 BE games in a row. At minimum 5 out of six. Muxh harder to do. 3 or 4 in a row, 1 L, 3 or 2 in a row is a more likely scenario. Put ourselves in a major deficit

yea i know but did you watch the Cincy, Rutgers, Louisville, WVU, UConn and Miami game? I would say the one game out of those 6 that was on Skip was the Miami game.

the rest...players need to make plays. bottom line

you mean taking a knee and settling for a field goal from the opponents 2 yard line on second and goal with 20 seconds and 2 timeouts left and then losing by 3 points isn't on the coach? he coaches scared.

or calling 27 pass plays in humidity where your QB can't grip the ball properly instead of running the ball when he is averaging 6.5 ypc isn't on the coaches?

what a joke

great coaches can turn around a program in 3 years or less. Rich rod is doing it in one year. bill snyder top 10 within 3 years without "his" QB and coming from 5-7.

I completely agree with you, but, I see many fans talking about "turning around" the program.

It wasn't broken. It didn't need to be turned around. We had 2 losing seasons under Leavitt. We went to 5 straight bowls. To me, it looks like Skip has turned it around... and not in a good way.

I hate Leavitt for getting himself fired. Loved him as our coach, at least for where we were as a program. At the end of the day, the program was too fragile to go through that change.

Slick- I'm not being sarcastic here, but, you have said many times that the people on this board are ignorant and we shouldn't question the coaches because there is no way we know what we're talking about. Just wondering what qualifies you to make such a statement? Seriously?

I think Bull94 has been beating a very logical drum about how this staff has used BJD, but, please enlighten us about how he can't possibly be correct.

I agree we didn't need to be turned around.

we are in year 3 and we don't seem to be any more prepared for our opponents than we were in years 1 and 2. our gameplans are baffling at times. players look lost and unmotivated. some blame everything on Bj and say let's see when he gets "his" guy in here. If it wasn't his guy then by all means replace him. there is no way a QB of BJ Daniels skill set should be throwing the ball 3 times for every time he runs it. he averaged 4.6 yards per carry last year. I have news for those who think Woulard is skip's guy. he has the same skill sets that BJ has and if he is used the same way then we will have similar results. there are plenty of coaches that win without "their" guy. Holtz likes to say we are a "work in progress'. how can we possibly be a work in progress in year 3 with all the seniors on this team? that's what you build for. an experienced team to show up every 3rd or 4th year. next year will be rebuilding with a new QB and lots of holes to fill. This was the year to prove he can coach here.

This is spot on. The frustrating thing isn't that we are losing games, it's the way we are losing games. There was absolutely no game plan for Rutgers last week and no in-game adjustments made. The only reason we beat Nevada was because of better talent. Nevada's game plan was solid, and if it wasn't for Freakshow being a freak, we would be sitting at 1-2. Just for once I want to see this team be prepared, with a proper game plan. and execute during a big conference game.

What about the coaches at these BE schools that beat us in their first year???? Doesnt take them three years, they dont muster 1 conference win in their second year. People are pissed because the only change from three years ago has been negative. I thought we would lose some games. But to lose the games, lose our intensity, our identity, all the while still playing sloppy and undisciplined has been beyond disappointing. This is not about people losing their sh** over our first loss, its about seeing the same things year in year out.

RU was a winnable game and we lost it, in the same fashion we always have. THAT'S why people are frustrated; not because we won't go 12-0. Most people expected us to struggle against FSU and UL this year, but not GIVE UP AGAINST RUTGERS

trivia question: When was the last 2 game BE win streak we had?

Yeah. It's been a while. Last 3 game BE streak was the tail end of 2007 (the comeback). I don't think there has ever been 4.

Past performance does not dictate what the future will bring, but winning out or winning 5 is a very uphill task.
