Trip, look at the Litton tweet referenced above ... Not sure when it was pulled, but I think it's pretty reasonable to infer that Litton's Twitter decommit precipitated all of this. If it wasn't pulled immediately after, I'd say he was given long odds of it being available again.

 

Litton's Friday decommit definitely started everything but I'm just saying there was nothing indicatiing irreparable damage to the relationship until today and him saying in the article that USF was obviously still in play reinforced that .... Putting on my Moose antlers, I'm guessing someone from USF read the interview, said enough was enough and then pulled the offer, hence the early evening Tweet from Litton. I honestly don't care about the who and why any longer, I'll just feel more comfortable with another qb verbal as soon as possible.

At the end of the day, I'm glad whatever happened did so in the premature stages of the recruiting cycle. Still have ample time to scoop up another solid qb recruit who doesn't come with excess baggage..

So... If you are another coach, what do you make of this drama? Does this hurt his chances at another D1 school?

Of course the coaches will hear his and maybe Taggart's side.

Do college coaches ever talk to each other about potential recruits?? Thought it was pretty much a dog eat dog business .... possibly, though I guess, coaches/friends could communicate with each other.

Don't know, but if Taggart is pissed enough and one of his friends calls to find out about the kid it is possible. Just depends on who is asking.
