He's 6 ft 4 and 270 pounds, and doesn't have any other offers? All that tells me is that he isn't very good. With his GPA, the kid could probably play IVY league ball. Hopefully it works out for him.

I don't like situations like this. Coaches are prohibited from commenting on recruits, so it just becomes a lot of accusations that can't be proven. I'm not trying to let CWT off the hook, but he could have easily had a conversation with the kid that ended with him politely pulling the offer with no foul play and the kid can say anything he wants to save face amongst his peers and on the internet. CWT can't do a thing to clear his name. Look at whats going on with Tuberville , the man can't say a thing and kids are piling on him like crazy. Even in some cases, others are bringing in evidence they're ******** charges. One TTU recruit is claiming Tuberville left him sitting at dinner when he got the job at Cincy and just walked out of the restaurant hanging him out to dry on his visit. Multiple sources are proving that to be a horsefeathers story by a teenage kid with his own motives for spreading it. I think until proven otherwise, CWT deserves the benefit of the doubt and there's more to this story than a 10:30 phone call to tell him to suck it.

I should have quoted the part that I was agreeing with, my apologies on that. USF cannot issue a statement about this as he is a potential recruit. We will never get the schools side of the story.

I'm pretty sure Tubs is a ****, it was more that the story about him abandoning recruits in the middle of dinner has been shown to be 100% false and there's nothing he can say about it. Bad example using him since he's screwing kids over left and right, just not the one who claims he got hung out to dry on his visit.

I agree that Tubs is a jerkoff, but even he can't say anything in response to the allegations being made against him. It's happened with one potential recruit on our side so far. I know Coach T's number one priority is recruiting, I would just love to hear his side of the story and why he came to the final conclusion that he did.

Ivy leagues doesn't offer student scholarships for athletics.

Just be prepared for the fall out. And I wonder if Weiner saw this coming and it was part of his decision to leave USF. The big plus of CWT was his recruiting. He burns bridges at major programs in the area, that is a big black mark. Seems that unless they have some stud guaranteed to come in to take that scholarship, it would be better in the long run to keep this kid, its only 1 position vs pissing off a school's staff and who knows how many that read and hear about this situation.

Taggart isnt dumb. Im sure the pros/cons were weighed. It will be ok. Not like USF is the only University that does this, it happens all the time.
