We dont know th full story amd may never know it all. It could have been handled a bit differently, but it is what it is. NIf he's as good of a student as they claim then he should be able to earn a scholarship of sort. Help him find the remainder and let him be preferred walk on. Sometimes the truth hurts and if he's not good enough for a scholarship, why waste one. Life is hard and things happen.

I am glad for him..We all have to adjust to reality.  As much as I wanted to run a 3 minute mile.it just wasn't going to happen.  I would like him to play at a school were he can get an education and

Good grief Slick... could you throw in anymore unsubstantiated info in there? Unless you were on the phone you only have a one sided article to go off of. I'm pretty sure that's not the only side of the story.

Just picked up an easter kentucky offer, he will be fine

That's the point isn't it? Its public perception. And they have a coach talking negatively about it so you know what he is thinking. You think someone is going to want to have their kid recruited by USF after reading this, even if everyone does it. The article isn't about everyone, is it?

He's 6 ft 4 and 270 pounds, and doesn't have any other offers? All that tells me is that he isn't very good. With his GPA, the kid could probably play IVY league ball. Hopefully it works out for him.

Coach T did it the only way he could, honestly.

Ivy leagues doesn't offer student scholarships for athletics.

Eastern Kentucky has a football team? They must play Western Carolina. Not sure how someone will be fine after being offered by a mid major school and ending up at BFE.

He is being offered a free education somewhere. The only one who probably wont be fine with this all shakes out is you, the least important person in the equation. Get over yourself already.

Yes they do.  But he is competing for everyone that qualifies for admission.

What exactly do you know about Eastern Kentucky?  Nothing.  So that is why you are not sure if he'll be fine.
