I am trying to figure out why Navy is favored. One thing I noticed is that Navy only has 3 sacks for the season. Rice got 3 in the last game. Hopefully, we only give up 2 or less.

This also doesn't really say why Navy is somehow favored to win.

I think biggest issue is Navy Is pretty consistent in who they are and we aren't...(yet). Been ages since we won a road game.

On paper we might appear better but guessing computers need to see more trends broken by team first.

I think I understand where you're coming from based on the speed of our play calling on offense. But it actually makes sense how that too can equate to more possession time per game. More plays per game means more TOP I suppose.

Also our defense is getting that ball back to the offense more frequently.

Home field advantage is usually 3.5 points so Vegas is saying both teams are about even.

Penalties are a growing concern. Look at that stat.

Penalties were horrendous for the first two weeks. Bama was a pretty clean game and then we got sloppy again against Rice. It's a work in progress and something that we will hopefully continue to clean up. We are currently 126th out of 130 teams in penalty yards per game. It isn't that much of a shock that a team full of Naval cadets are the 3rd least penalized team in the country. Army is 4th and Air Force is 11th. Says something about discipline.

WKU: 11-100

FAMU: 14-114

Bama: 5-40

Rice: 9-89

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
