Funny how some on here belittled the USF is the Harvard of the south statement. It wasn't so far off.

I mentioned before, my freshman American History professor introduced his class to that term (40+ years ago), smirking and chuckling of course.  I’m very happy with the AAU designation.  Now, we need to decide if athletics is really our thing.  It hasn’t appeared so, lately.

Why? 'Cause I know we're s'posed to toe the company line about education, and humanity, and a better world just packed to overflowing with wisdom and betterment of all. But, ESPN has once again refused to televise the petri dish championships and that commercial airtime ain't gonna sell itself. And remember kids, this is a college sports message board. We're here to discuss and malign that field of endeavor.

Exactly there are two investment streams coming together at the same time. The academic will raise our profile and the new admin is clearly serious about investing in athletics.  We look like a much better option to me than during the last round of expansion.  This is not the same old USF.

AAU all day. It may take another 10-20 years to go P5 as things develop. Just relax and be patient, it will eventually happen.
