I think when a coach comes in and starts talking about how bare the cupboard is and how long the rebuild is going to take the guys on the roster take it as a diss. The coach just called them all trash and threw them under the bus and now expects them to go out there and fight and give 110% for him?

Prediction:

The team rallies around Coach Da Patro and Coach Sims, and we go undefeated. We put up 70 on UCF, and the Big 12 takes back their invite. We give CDDP a lifetime extension and go into the CFP after upsetting Alabama in 2023. Saban is so humiliated he decides to become our D Coordinator to learn under a genius football mind. We all live happily ever after.

What else could happen?

It's not really a diss when you're 4-8 and got the previous coach fired because you couldn't stop anyone on defense.  I hope the current players aren't going to be offended when the new coach comes in and says it's going to be a process to re-build this program again?

Day 1 - Relief

Day 2 through hiring - Endless speculation and bs from every insider under the sun.

Day 1 of the hiring announcement - The entire gamut of good, bad, and WTF! opinions on said hire

Day 2 after the hiring announcement - See above ↑ except now the comments are on the OC and DC, followed closely by the         remainder of the staff

Day 3 after the hiring announcement - Recruiting, probably more negative comments than positive.

BUT!

Just wait until NEXT YEAR!
