None of these plebeian writers matter; they are just jumping on the tail of the B12 news. None of them foresaw the B12's unanimous vote for expansion. And none of them can predict what teams will be chosen.

Anyway, I just want to make a case that USF athletics is doing stuff behind the scenes to get us looking shiny for the B12.

Case in point, that report about USF athletics that came out some weeks ago (I don't have the link to the PDF right at the moment), I would argue that was done to explain who and what we are as a program to expansion people.

Also, as fans, we all want to be in a P5. Now, imagine our livelihood is also on the line. I'd think we would be extra motivated. Seriously, they all know that the BE exit money is going to away fast, and the paltry share from the American isn't going to cut it.

If USF hires firms to look into the hiring of head coaches, I would think it would be doing much more to save its proverbial butt from lowcashville!

Not saying we are so great, but why only focus on negatives.  Why not say, the upsides and take a positive slant on the story.

Also, I won't concede that we "don't bring anything to the table."  We do - e.g. market size for TV, excellent academics, pro stadium (potentially an OCS in the future), top notch athletics facilities, large public school with lots of future alumni, ideal recruiting state, improving football team and excellent Olympic sports.  In a word, we've got "upside."

Whether that's enough or what the Big XII is looking for remains to be seen.  It may not be.  But we can only sell what we've got.
