We all know the bay area is loaded with talent but we haven't ever been every to create that mythical wall around the Tampa Bay area. What we are experiencing now is simply only being able to recruit low level talent that doen't have better options (generally speaking).

Yes - there is too much competition from both in-state and out of state schools to build a wall around Tampa Bay, but at least make the region a recruiting priority

Two of our coaches focused on Tampa Bay recruits, two did not

Their records speak for themselves

We dont have to and we never will build a wall around tampa for recruits while in the AAC.

Thats ok we still can get enough good players in the Tampa Bay area to still win the AAC.

I’ll take good players wherever we can find them. Staying in one area seems risky to me. Interestingly the two best QBs on ucf are both from Hawaii.

Step 1: Hire CJL as head Coach

Step 2: Win!

Step 1.5:. Have patience.  Strong did not have a winner's competitive mindset.  Scott has already changed the mentality... team was not giving up in thee ND loss, which was the #1 positive take away for me.

Edit: ND highlighted how low Strong brought the team.  Can't change it overnight, but looks like Scott is building in the right direction.

If Cade isn’t coming back anytime soon, I’d like to see Marsh get some meaningful minutes.

Find a qb, recruit heavy on both lines. Find players that fit your system. Promote USF in the community and keep preaching your goals and core values to the university, public, and team. Build a culture that doesn't exist and announce the IPF start date ! Force usf to fully support and go all in on athletics.

id. my post on Recruiting philosophy thread.  Given the current circumstance of USF and the landscape of college football I don't know how we build a big-time program without at least a little chicanery.  Even the best of our "peers" remain the hungry street urchins with their nosed pressed to the glass while watching the rich kids feast and grow fatter and happier.

I have been wondering about him

He is coming off a 6A state championship, is dual threat and when he has played, looked like he had some zip on the ball

Then again, he is a true freshman and if he had shown anything in practice, you would figure that CJS would have given him some better reps
