He literally has been raised to be a head coach of a major college program. Look at his training. 11 years under dabo. His dad was a P5 head coach in the SEC. His dad was on Bobby Bowden's staff for more then a decade.

couldn't be a better fit IMO

And once he gets hired away from USF he may very well be.  😉

I can't imagine that Clemson, SC is that much of a happening place either, but they seem to be doing something right.

But SC has to play an SEC schedule, so it is a different animal.

The area around Clemson is beautiful and is the epitome of a college town.  Columbia is the state capital, the same state capital that flew the Confederate flag on the state house until recently.

Wonder why he wasn't successful at SC.  Although nobody seems to do well there, except for maybe Spurrier.  And even he, although somewhat successful wasn't able to win Championships there like he did at Florida.   Hard to compete in the top heavy SEC.

Spurrier and Holtz were both successful.  Dabo started off with a win against Spurrier and then lost 5 in a row to SC.

I hope he wants to coach a P5 school to a National Championship.  I hope more that it's USF.  ;)

Well, if he gets poached by a P5 program from USF, that means we have had a couple of 10 win seasons so 👍

I heard Scott is bringing an offensive analyst, and wr coach with him. So we can get rid of Charlie Williams and Burke. Move Kade Bell to QB coach, Keep KB as OC, Shaun King as RB. Scott could replace the WR, TE, OL positions.  Move Auggie Sanchez to special teams coach. Keep BJM and the defensive coaches and boom!....the staff is comeplete! Is it fall 2020 yet?

Getting rid of Burke. Addition by subtraction. Makes it a good hire already.

Probably a tad bit easier to recruit to Clemson than here.................

Definitely, but if he can channel xCWT and get a few guys he will have a big impact

I don’t see your logic. So if he is so good he should be at a P5 program? Hell if that is your benchmark then we would never be able to hire a coach. I am glad he got none of those offers or we would have ended up with some dude from Valley State.

Same logic others are using "He'll bolt in 2-3 years so this is a bad hire.", the best hires we can make will bolt in 2-3 years if they are successful. They're setting up a set of false parameters where Jim Leavitt comes back, does well and never leaves. None of which are guarantees.

If true, karma will come around and bite UCF one of these days. I’m asking all USF fans to be patient with this hire. No need to expect winning until about season 3. We will know then if this was a home run hire or not.

All things considered, despite a bad team and not great recruiting class the schedule is favorable for squeaking out 6 wins in Scott's first year. I expect it to be a rough couple years but year one has a chance of showing some progress due to SOS.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
