Yeah. Basically it gives ESPN some control and gives the ACC a declining percentage of Clemson and FSU money from TV. Also would lower the payout for current ACC members - which is the danger. They could choose to dissolve the conference. ACC teams have an option to dissolve the conference before SMU, Stanford, and Cal come in on June 30 as well.

Kinda but the play-in game is pretty iffy as a tournament win in my eyes. I just count it as a single win. I think this team is more fun and likely better. I also would reserve judgement. If the win the NIT then this is easily the best team.

And Tulsa is quite good at home.

And a work day, so people come later since they had to get out of work and possibly grab a quick dinner ahead of time.

Those two make it easier on Cal and Stanford.

I doubt that. If both add a few more teams like FSU to the SEC, etc then they will own the biggest teams. I would not be surprised if the SEC and Big Ten move to 22 or 24 and just break away. FSU, Clemson go to the SEC with maybe a few others added. UNC, Duke, Virginia, Kansas all go Big Ten. I would suspect all sports would break away and they would each carve out a deal for all sports. The SEC and Big Ten would pretty much own 90% of all seasonal viewership. I know the NCAA has proposed a third Division I tier, but I doubt that would soothe the Big Ten and SEC. So it is pretty much give them what they want or they leave - and they hold the cards. I think what you hope for are some terms on those automatic bids that would allow them to fall away if certain conditions are not meant - such as requiring all of them to have 10 wins.

And they will show you all the money they will make. If you think it won't work out well for them, you're not paying attention.

Don't they have pills for that nowadays? Making a call on a new coach after so few games is always a bad idea. Sometimes you will be right, but it is pretty clear at this point that Coach Abdur-Rahim is capable and adaptable. Just took a bit to get things to mesh and find the footing.

From Ohio originally but I like the Big Ten, of course I grew up as a Michigan fan (and still am one), so it is much easier when one of your favorites is one of the juggernauts.

This is so exciting. Hope it fuels the squad to just keep winning and get that bid. We should be able to set a seasonal attendance record if this continues. I bet football and basketball season ticket sales will be way up.

He was at Kennesaw State for four years. There are realities of budgets and facilities. It is a small facility at Kennesaw State. Yeungling has 3x the capacity of that arena, much better training facilities, much better athletics offices. Granted, both are in large metro areas, but USF is the big school in the area whereas in the Atlanta area, there are so many schools to compete with. Not saying he will stay forever, but if he gets a pay bump, I think he stays for a bit. Unlike with football, you can make it in a conference like the American. Eventually I suspect he will move on if a big name comes calling and he has consistent success here. But could see him staying for 3-4 years at least. Enough to show USF has potential in basketball.

If we lose the conference tourney, the ideal is to lose to FAU. IF we could beat UAB along the way, depending on how we finish, that could clean up our one conference loss (if we can finish and win the remaining games).

Yep. I know the Big Ten. They want AAU. That is why they would take Miami, UNC, GT, UVA, Duke all above FSU or Clemson. Ohio State and a few others may vote to add them. You need 70% or 13 schools. Northwestern, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, USC, Minnesota, and Indiana would all certainly vote against a non-AAU school. I suspect UCLA and Maryland would as well. If they can be convinced the market is worthwhile and the school is academically and athletically viable, they will vote yes on an application.

That's okay, but rather get to the dance. I'd probably prefer winning the NIT over losing in round 1 but winning a single game in the tournament is better than winning the NIT.

I would agree with this one personally. It would certainly be nice to have the all time highest winning percentage this year for regular season, but would be disappointing if we get bounced in round 1 or go to the NIT. Is it better to win the NIT or lose in the first round of the Tournament? This would undoubtedly be the best year ever if we win the conference tourney and get to the Sweet Sixteen, but I am not holding my breath.

Their best regular season was 1975-76 when they had a .706 winning percentage. If they win two more games, they will beat that. Their best tournament run was in 2012. I guess the question is what do you call the best season? Was it that? Was it winning the CBI?

If they win 2 more games they will have their highest regular season win percentage in school history. They'd finish 21-8 at worst - .724.

There were some bad calls and some missed ones. There was some contact on a few of the presses and one score where an offensive player went through a defensive player that went straight up. A friend of mine, a referee, messaged me while watching that that was clearly a charge because the defender stood his ground, made no motion towards the offensive player, and it was the offensive player that initiated the contact by violating the defender's space.

Issue is fans are going to do it no matter what and the committees do not take fan chants into account. Let the fans have their fun when warranted.

If you're up by 20 with 4 minutes left, you might be able to start thinking about a chant like that.

Yeah. Have not sold out the arena since 2001. We've mostly not been good since that time with a few blips along the way but this team has stirred excitement for the first time in a long team. Wonderful thing is it seems we hit on both coaching hires for basketball and football. A couple more seasons will prove it - hopefully they both stay for a bit.

Definitely need more work against the press and important to initiate the offense earlier - at least with 15 seconds left.

Looks like ESPN has a unilateral option that likely is just a modest bump. The reality is the ACC bought ESPN's line about not offering a contract if they did not do a grant of rights deal.
