Whew what a day. Can I just say that I really like where Kelly's head is with this one - get a Tampa guy who is bought into the University, the city, and wants to be here. Everyone will seem promising. Everyone will have baggage. But that's a good starting point.

I can't relate to these guys saying here and on twitter "hire _______ and I am done with USF".

Whether it's Tags, Lane, Scott, or a freaking upturned mop, I'm ready to swallow my personal opinions and get behind the guy and look into the future. I want to win sure, but we won't go 12-0 every year and I am OK with that if we have a guy who bleeds green and gold and runs a solid program.

That is all for now.

No baggage. Local guy. Stronger ties to the Bay Area than Willie and Lane combined. He’s been loyal to USF and the Bay Area in general.

But can he coach? I don’t see that in your reasoning.

I am with you here. In essence I do have a favorite, but whoever gets the job they have my full fandom support and I’ll be happy at the spring game and start of the season.

Coming clean, though, I haven't listened to R&I in years, if not decades, so it is possible they've gotten better ...... but they were pretty worthless back when I did try to listen.

First off they dont try to be hacks which is automatically better than most in the market.

How dead does the horse have to be?

But since we are here. Graham's third string QB looked more game ready the play he stepped in under fire than any of Bell's at any point.

Probably a better player and had better players around him......

Absolutely NO to Taggart.

I don’t love the Lane Kiffin idea either, but better than Willie.

I’d take a shot with Shaun King before either one of them.

King = coached high school and was unsuccessful. Got out of coaching then did 7 on 7 and has been a position coach. Been average recruiting the bay and you want him as head coach. This board is crazy

You say he was an average recruiter...I read the the other day that he was the ace recruiter on the staff.

And I’ll say it again....I’m not saying King should be the coach. I never said he should be the coach.

I said that I’d rather have him than Willie Taggart. I’ll say it again. I’ll take Matt Grothe over Willie Taggart.I don’t want Willie Taggart here. Period. It would be a ****** hire.
