Some thoughts on the USF job.... I expect them to reach out Clemson OC Tony Elliott. Told Elliott won't leave Clemson for USF, but USF will make the call. After that I think Willie Taggart comes into play. I've been told there's been contact between USF and Sexton. No offer yet

I don't think Larry Scott is at the top of AD Michael Kelly's hot board. But it should be. If USF wanted to make a quick hire, the players, alum and fans could get behind long term then this is the move.

I'm hearing Lane Kiffin is interested in the job. He's injected himself into all the searches, so why not USF? You also have Shaun King in the building & a darkhorse Houston OC Marquell Blackwell could come home.

Good info. I miss when Josh was more involved with USF.

Staying at Clemson as OC versus coming to USF as HC.....smart man.

Maybe enough to see he won’t have a pocket passer at USF.

Josh does seem to have a way of finding things out. I knew somebody had to know something

I am real hesitant to see us bring in some big name assistant from one of these big schools where they have every advantage.

I’d rather see someone who has been able to have success at a lesser program.

CWT or Lane Kiffin are my guesses too...

I have no interest in Kiffin for reasons that should be obvious to everyone.

Taggart makes almost too much sense not to happen, especially since I anticipate the bigger names saying no like Josh suggests.

I also agree that it would be great to get someone who has really done great things with a "lesser program," but the structural changes in college football (e.g. P5, etc.) and more frequent openings has made that type of hire more difficult for a program like USF. Almost everyone we are realistically looking at has some question marks.

I’m all in on Lane for reasons that should be obvious to everyone, as well.

Taggart is a good fit still.

He is still young and ambitious (probably still wants to be first black coach to win national championship).

He can recruit and knows Florida.

He runs a spread adaptable to USF recruits.

He will still be gone at the first chance up he gets, but that means he probably has us winning again, we just need to have a buyout on his end if he leaves.

I think Taggart has to be near the top of the list.
