My two cents. Charlie inherited a ranked team (11-2 the year before), under performed in year one, and failed to build on the momentum of Willie Taggart. That 2017 team was the strongest team we've had in our history with respect to our schedule. Strong is now knee deep in his own **** due to poor recruiting, some bad luck and his own lack of tolerance with the guys that were already in the program.

Scott Frost inherited a terrible 4-8 team that lost six of their last seven and beat no one of stature in 2017. He then lost his first six games while dealing with a bunch of malcontents in 2018. The scraped out a couple of wins to close out the year, however they are far from a finished product. If these two coaches are on an escalator, Frost is slowly going up while Strong is coming down.

So that takes us to 2023 for the turnaround - at the earliest - and that's right before we should expect that Big 12 to implode. So instead of building a several year track record of performance and growing fan base, we will have two tops.

This is why waiting to for CCS is an 9 figure mistake. Kelly needs to go all in now to build the track record UCF has over the last 3-4 years so when the conference realignment happens we are in as good of a position as possible.

The lack of understanding how short term decisions tie to long term goals and vision on this board is alarming.

Questionable whether anything happens to the Big12. If it does we will be part of the scrapes of new conference that is not P5 (with our neighbors to the north). No one from the AAC is going P4. We will be fine.

Some of you mention that Strong underperformed. Couldn’t the same be said for Willie’s final season here?

No because CWT left after his one good season that means he would be eternally great despite all evidence to the contrary.

Easier said then done.  I hope one of you hits the lottery to pay his buyout. This is USF, not FSU.  There won't be any loaded donors stepping forward to throw away money for Strong to be replaced.   If there was, we'd all ready have an IPF.

Cronkrite, Sails, Macon, Roberts, Joiner Jr., RSF,   Sanders, Barnett (who was inconsistent, but still solid for how little he actually played in college and lack of an offensive line) etc.

Let’s also not forget that we have one of the top defenses in the nation right now. I’m sure those are all Taggart’s guys, though, right?

What did Scott Frost accomplish in 3 years at a measly AAC team coming off a winless season?  What did Strong do in 3 years after taking over a high octane winning program?

Yeah I bet you don't like those type of Scott Frost comparisons now do you.

Scott Frost Nebraska record is worse than Taggarts record at FSU. Nebraska recruiting ranking for 2017 - #23, 2018 - #23, 2019 - #18 and they has had a top 25 recruiting class since 2017....they shouldn't be that bad.

Ah yes, perfect. Thank you for pointing this out. So then it should go without saying that we can’t just throw away coaches at the disposal of some of these big schools, and that means we actually might have to give coaches more than 2 or 3 years every time we don’t see the results we want.

If by top defenses you mean ranked #57 then sure "top" its is.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Tied for 47* and 3rd in our conference. That’s with the Wisconsin game factored in. If you can’t see that this defense has improved under Strong’s time here then take off the blinders.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
