I think Charlie Strong is a great coach. While he’s not CJL, he’s the best Coach we have right now. This team has it’s deficiencies and it’s struggles, but I’ve been impressed that even late in the season they haven’t quit on the Coaches or USF. I really hope CCS is leading the team next year.

Yeah a great coach has his team become progressively worse over the first three years he coaches them.  And you really hope that same coach is leading the team next year? Now I have heard it all.

I can't believe this thread was even made.  Charlie Strong is a loser.  He looks like a loser, he sounds like a loser, he coaches like a timid loser collecting a paycheck.  The fans have jumped ship, the recruits are dropping like flies, and the team has GOTTEN WORSE EACH OF THE THREE YEARS HE HAS BEEN HERE!!!!  He can't coach, he can't recruit, he can't motivate his players and he can't save the program.  He needs to be gone!!!  There will be 15k in the stands at each of the home games next season if he is brought back.  He killed Texas and he has now killed USF with the final heartbeat of the program to come November 29th after ucf curb stomps us. It will not be getting better next year if he is brought back.  A great coach??!?!?!?!  If by great you mean horrible, then I agree with you 100 percent.

He is most likely coming back next year...unless he gets completely blown out and the players lose their mind and start taking giant dumps in the stands...Chuck is coming back

Yup, now is the time to do it. We need a high energy, relentless recruiter.

KB looks like he is relentless in the buffet line, maybe that’s the thing people are hoping translates to doing something serviceable in his actual job because to date he has displayed none of it here.

I know he is coming back.  Know what else is coming back?  The losses. Bad clock management. Bad recruiting. An apathetic fan base that dwindles by the day. An empty RayJay on Saturday afternoons and evenings.  Press conferences where he either cries or spouts off gibberish about his idiotic in-game coaching decisions.  Gee, I can't wait!!  is it 2020 yet??!?!?

We can't afford to buy him out and we can't afford a new coach...

Unfortunately, right now... we need to just be happy with .500 and maybe a bowl game if we are lucky

Let him finish up his contract, and with the money we save, try to find a better coach in the future after his contract is up.

We can't afford any more instability in this program... we are in shambles and we made our bed with Strong, time to lie in it until it's over.

Are you trying to suggest that lob would be anything but sincere? How dare you try to besmirch the good name of a fine board member.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
